Chapter Eighteen:Tributes and Vengeance

Skylar's POV

I take the field with the guys and line up as I face Samson on the field, he mean mugs me as Jordan hikes the ball

I run my route and juke out Samson before catching the ball and taking off, I run through some players the way Shawn taught me and juke out some the way he taught me before getting taken down hard

I get up and I'm faced with another one of my ex teammates who shoulder checks me and walks off, I stay locked in and down pay him any mind

We line up again and I run my route perfectly before jumping to get the ball but I'm tackled hard, I groan as I hit the ground and instantly throw the guy off me

I look over and see it's Samson, I get up  and so does he and before I can get in his face, JJ pulls me away from him

"Thats just the start Dyke" Samson yells as he walks away, I look to the sideline and see Coach clapping but my eyes trial behind him and I see Donavon looking irritated as can be

We run more plays and I'm hit constantly even when I don't have the ball and Samson is rubbing it in my face but luckily Spencer got us a touchdown

I sit in the bench as I watch Donavon play out of his mind, he got us tied now and as I take the field he walks up to me

"Coach is telling the guys to hit you hard, even though they planned to anyway...I know about Shawn so you better truck those guys like he taught you" He says before taking off  to the sidelines

I watch him and look at Coach with a look he should remember

Flashback

I look towards my coach and get up

"Coach when can I go in, you said I'd shine in the 4th quarter" I say frustratedly

"You'll get in soon, I'm thinking of a plan to get you to succeed" My coach says as he watches the plays go on

"Trust me.....if the ball is in my hands then I will succeed" I say confidently causing him to turn around

"You got that fiery look in your eyes.....fine I'll let you in but don't let me down" Coach says patting my shoulder

End of flashback

I line up for the play and I'm met with Samson again who I guess was moved to defensive so he could be apart of this plan, I smirk at him before Jordan hikes the ball

I run my route and juke Samson out and break his ankles in the process before catching the ball and running it to the end zone causing the crowd to go wild, I look over at Coach and I see him starting to get nervous

I smirk and go back to the bench, the game continues and I get us touchdown after touchdown and break the confidence of my old team each time but not enough since they got us tied

I let out a deep breath as the clock winds down and we're at the 30 years line, I line up with dick head Derwin as I call him as he starts talkin shît

"You wont win this one Dyke, just cause Daddy finally took you in doesn't mean you wont take an ass whooping" He says cockily

"Talk ya shit playa but you not gon get in my head" I say

"Kinda like Shawn got a bullet in his....heard his ass was laid out, serves him right" He says and I look at him and all I see is red, Jordan hikes the ball and I slam into Derwin causing him to fall hard
