Chapter Nineteen: Trouble in the house

Skylar's POV

I sit in the locker room with Maya as she plays with her toys and we wait for the Coaches, I see Jordan looking at me with a disgusted look but I look away and focus on Maya who's showing me her Barbie causing me to smile

"Alright fellas I'm gonna keep this short and sweet, apparently the sports committee received an anonymous tip that one of our players..uh..violated the drug policy so I'm afraid y'all are gonna have to get drug tested" My father says and I shrug and pick up Maya and her toys as I walk to the crowd

I see Coach standing there watching me and I glare back at him, I see my father make sure there's distance between him and his brother before continuing

My father tells us to line up and I do as we're told, Maya lays her head on my shoulder as she starts to get shy as JJ tries to play with her

I laugh a bit at him as she's not giving him the time of day, I grab my cup and I go to the bathroom, I do my business as Maya does hers before we wash our hands and walk out, I hand my cup to the person handle them and they write my name on it

I walk out but as I do I see Jordan fidgeting a bit but I ignore it and head out to the car, I get in my dad car and put Maya in her seat before getting in

After the conversation..well more like the one sided conversation with my father and Laura, he not only lowered my allowance but he took my car as well which is great....just great

I rock Mayas seat as she starts fussy because she's sleepy and Laura couldn't watch her thanks to a meeting she had and I wasn't asking Olivia to watch her

Time skip

I sit on Patience' bed as she complains about Coop being in with Tyrone and them, I roll my eyes as I watch Maya play with her toys

"Are you paying attention...this is serious Sky like I don't know what to do" Patience says causing me to sigh, I look at my phone and see it's almost time for me to go to work and for Maya to go to her Grandmas

"Look P......I've told you many times to go with your gut and here you are complaining about the same thing when the solution is probably right in front of you...look I'm not here to judge your relationship but if you gin complain about her being in the streets..don't be with her or convince her to leave when she still can...which has long past" I say as I grab my bag with my spare clothes in it

"Sky I just need an answer please" She says as Maya cleans up her toys and puts them in her bag, I pick her up and look at a desperate looking Patience

"You have the answer...but you not gon like it...you need to decide what you want out of y'all's relationship..do you wanna put up with her on the streets or do you wanna leave because your tired of it...it's your choice P" I say before leaving her house, I walk down the street swiftly as I make my way to Shawn's mama house

Thankfully she said she'd take care of Maya any time I needed and honestly I'm grateful because my father hasn't been helping at all and Laura has with helping me get some clothes for Maya since she didn't have a lot

I get to Shawn's mama house and see his friends outside

"Hey guys...is mama home" I ask

"Yea she upstairs, we got lil Ma though" Derick says, I nod and hand him Maya and he smiles at her gleefully

"Hey girl...we missed you" He says causing me to smile, I look at Maya and see she's not too fond of Derrick like she wants out of his arms

I make a mental note of this as mama comes out and takes Maya from Derrick who sucks his teeth and moves to the side

"Thanks mama...I'll be back after my shift....love you and thank you...btw Lil ma...mama loves you" I say to Mama before looking to Maya who's mood shifts and she hugs my head, I kiss her cheek before leaving to the bus stop

I get of the bus and walk into the cafe I'm usually always at and see my manager smiling at me

"How you always on time man" He says causing me to shrug

"Early bird man I don't know" I say before heading to the back, I clock in before washing dishes in the back for a few hours till the person who does them comes in, I walk out and wait tables and clean them before going to the register for the rest of my shift

"Alright Baker....or whatever name you go by...time to clock out or you'll miss the bus" My manager says and I laugh a little before dapping him up and head in to the back, I clock out and get my stuff before rushing out

I make the bus barely and ride back to Crenshaw, I get off at the bus stop and job all the way to Mama's house, I use my spare key and walk in to see the crew still there

"Hey fam....where my daughter at" I say as they all greet me

"She in the other room, Derrick wanted to put her to sleep" One guy says and I nod but I feel a bad feeling in my stomach

I walk to the room and open the door to see Derrick in the corner of the room watching my daughter as he....what the fuck

I go over to him and punch him in his shot before I keep punching him repeatedly, I hear people walk in and try to pull me off but I keep hitting him over and over again

"Yo Sky chill what happened" One guy says as she pulls me off and they check on Derrick

"This nigga was gettin off to my daughter" I say as I they hold me back, the crew look at a barely conscious Derrick before pulling him out the room with Mama yelling to beat his ass

I walk over to Maya who is looking around, I instantly check her and see she's not been messed with from what I can see

"I'm getting her an appointment" I say as I pick her up along with my bag

"Sky you know that could be bad...they gon take her away" Mama says causing me to sigh as I look to Maya, i start to feel overwhelmed causing mama to put her hands on my shoulders

"Sleep on it then call me tomorrow, let me drive you home" She says and I nod as I start to shake and hold onto Maya who's asleep on my shoulder, I nod as I start to rethink everything things

This is gonna be difficult

A/n ok if you made it through the chapter then I'm proud of you and if you couldn't I'm still proud of you, this is a difficult subject but real thing that happens and these situations can vary in their outcome and I pray that anyone who has gone through this heals and finds peace with this

I do wanna say that I have not experienced this so this may not be accurate , I won't have the be a one off things since I introduced it but it is something that helps push this young parenthood era for Skylar and she is learning, again this may not be accurate since I have never experienced this myself I'm purely going off of logic and what I feel I would do if I was Skylar,
