(Song on top) Today I was gonna spend the day with me, Bennys parents, my parents, and Benny. Flora and potato stayed home with Scottys mom. We were in the car but me and Benny were stuffed all the way in the back since the car was full. I tried to make a conversation with Benny but all he did was stare at his phone and text that girl. He seemed happy and excited when he looked at his phone.
"Beeeeenyyyy" I whispered. He seemed different. It's been a month since him and that girl Violet have been talking and he doesn't even speak to me anymore. Only the guys. We don't talk in school, we don't sit together in lunch, we don't walk home together anymore, sometimes we do but she's always tagging along and I have to third wheel. How does someone just do that, he flipped a whole switch in just a month. We only play baseball with the guys and that's it, He doesn't even sit next to me in the dugout, he sits next to her since she keeps inviting herself to the sandlot as if she's welcomed. I decided to text Bertram, maybe he knew why Benny was being distant with me. I've became closer to Bertram since Benny wanted to start being a bitch to me.

I rememberd that the neckalce I got from Benny(the half heart one) had a button that if we're ever in a emergency we tap it three times and it alerts their phone that we need help and also sends a vibration to the other half of the necklace. Which was around Bennys neck.
The 2nd click was 'love you'. I clicked the button twice but he did something I wish he didn't.
He took the necklace off. We made a promise to never take it off unless it's to clean it or shower, and he broke it. I didn't know how to react. I just felt my face getting hot, a lump in my throat and my eyes burning a lot.
Tears started going down and down my face. My breathing got heavy. I was silently crying biting down onto the hem of my shirt to silence myself. I didn't want benny to know he made me cry or else he might feel like he has control over me.
I didn't take my necklace off. a promise is a promise even if he didn't keep his end of it. I knew I should've pinky swore on it. He looked at me worried and he was about to hug me, and opened his mouth to say something. But he got a message from violet, I managed to read it through the mirror reflection.
'I don't care if you love her or if she's your best friend, do it for me baby, don't talk to her! Please🥺💕'
He looked at me and a tear came down his face. Then came more tears, he went back to his spot without even hugging me or trying to make me feel better. We were on our way to six flags.
I knew this day would be horrible because we would be crying the whole entire day and acting fine in front of our parents, or I would be crying, I don't know about him.
All I wanted was Benny to say one word to me. Anything. Tears kept streaming down my face. Every time I cleaned one off another one came. I was holding it in. I put my airpods in and listened to my music. I was starting to get really really cold in the car. I pointed to my book bag and Benny wiped a tear from his face and gave it to me then went back to his phone.
