School sucks. I zoned out and ignored everything that happened until the teacher called my name.

"Elena" says the teacher

"Here" I respond and nod my head at her

"Benny"

"Here" he responds, throwing up and catching a paper ball

Benny Rodriguez was my best friend since little. It seemed like he ALWAYS wanted to annoy me since I was born.

We were born in the same hospital, at the same time, 1 year apart. And I was born in the same hospital room as he was, he was there while I was born.

Our parents were best friends for as long as I can remember.

Every Saturday our families and sometimes the others, would have a cook out/ pool day together at my parents backyard and sometimes invite the team.
Other times it was just an indoors movie night

We have a pretty big house.

I play with the and ends of my hair completely ignoring what the teacher was saying. Also i need to get my ends trimmed so badly

I felt something hit my head

"What the fuck" I whispers confused. I furrowed my eyebrows and turned to my right

I turn to see Benny laughing trying to hide his face from my view

I lightly roll my eyes and whisper "I know it was you Franklin"

He turns so he's facing me with a light grin and he leans back onto his chair "chill out pokey"

I scoff and move my chair farther over

In our school we have 1 long table that holds each 2 people and unluckily enough Benny sits next to me. It's been like that since pre-k and I think the system is rigged. Obvious not all classes have tables like this but i'm always somewhere near benny

"You seriously need to find other friends to annoy benny." I kicked his chair. Even if I did move my chair over, we were still super close since that's just how small the tables really are

He leaned over and whispered "you did this to yourself" his lips almost touching my neck.

It sent shivers down my spine and it made me feel uncomfortable

He raises his hands "Mz. benson Elena is asking me for the homework answers"

HUH? WHEN? "what no I didn't! he threw a paper ball at-"

The teacher cuts me off "both of you detention after school, I could stay here all week if I needed too"

"Yeah cause you have no one to get to at home" I mumbled back quickly

"i'm sorry?" she asked and turned so her ear was facing me "repeat that"

I sight and sit back down and Benny leans back to his chair. Ms. benson continues teaching and Benny looks over at me, I look back over at him with an angry look while he smiles
