We reach the end of the long corridor. Just before opening the small door Mr Wonka turns to us.
"An important room, this. After all it is a chocolate factory."
"Then why is the door so small?" Mike asks rudely interrupting Mr Wonka.
"Thats to keep all the great big chocolatey flavour inside." Mr Wonka replies smiling.
Mr Wonka unlocks the door then opens it dramatically.
"Holy fuck." I say. We walk onto the grass. Mr Wonka guides us through.
"Now... do be careful, my dear children. Dont lose your heads. Don't get overexcited. Just keep very calm." Wonka says as we all admire the beauty of this room. Wonka spins around, his eyes meet mine. Blushing I quickly stop making eye contact but Wonka still stares at me.
"Its beautiful." Charlie comments.
"What?" Wonka says snapping out of his gaze. "Oh yeah, its very beautiful." He looks at me as he says this. I look to the ground, it seems like the safest option.
"Mr Wonka is staring at you, Cassie." Charlie whispers to me.
"Thats just lovely." I whisper back.
"Cassie, you have a had a crush on him forever just say something." Charlie whispers.
"I haven't ever had a crush on Mr Wonka." I whisper back trying to control my blush.I see the Wonka bar Augustus dropped. I cover the chocolate in the foil and stuff it in my pocket. Charlie gives me a confused glance.
"We wouldn't want to litter on this place, would we?" I say to him. We walk behind Mr Wonka to the riverbank. The chocolate River.
"Every drop of the river is hot melted chocolate of the finest quality." Mr Wonka explains as we walk over the bridge.
"The waterfall is most important. It mixes the chocolate, churns it up. Makes it light and frothy. By the way, no other chocolate factory in the world mixes its chocolate by waterfall, my dear children and you can take that one to the bank." Wonka continues. When he says 'light and frothy' he spoke using his hands which I found quite weird. It looked like he was performing magic.
"People would pay crazy money to get married in a place like this." I say to Charlie. He nods in agreement.
"Daddy, I want to get married in this chocolate factory." Veruca says to her father obviously eavesdropping in our conversation.
"Of course you can, darling." Mr Salt replies."People!" Mr Wonka gathers out attention. "Those pipes suck up the chocolate and carry it away and all over the factory. Thousands of galleons an hour. Yeah. And do you like my meadow? Try some of my grass. Please have a blade. Please do. Its so delectable and so darn good-looking."
"Like you." I whisper to Charlie about Mr Wonka. Charlie looks at me in disgust. I laugh at little at his face.
"You can eat the grass?" Charlie asks ignoring my comment.
"Of course you can. Everything in this room is eatable. Even in eatable but that is called cannibalism, my dear children and is, in fact, frowned upon in most societies. Yeah, enjoy." Mr Wonka finishes.
"Yeah, Charlie dont start eating people because they are eatable." I whisper to Charlie in a jokey way. Charlie laughs lightly.
"So do you wanna go off on your own or want me to go with you." I ask Charlie.
"I'll go on my own, you need to speak with Mr Wonka." Charlie replies. Charlie walks over to Mr Wonka and says. "Mr Wonka, i thought you should know, my sister, Cassie." Charlie points at me as I widen my eyes knowing what he's doing. "Thinks your hot." Mr Wonka blushes and Charlie runs off. I look to the floor in embarrassment.
"I am so sorry about Charlie." I say to Mr Wonka.
"Dont worry about it. I mean your pretty. I mean hot. I'm mean.... ah fuck." Mr Wonka replies. Im blushing but laughing.
"Whats it like to run a very successful chocolate business?" I ask curiously trying to change the topic.
"Interesting, its nice to see so many people enjoy what I do." Mr Wonka answers honestly.
"Have you always wanted a chocolate related business or was it a last minute decision?" I ask.
"Ever since I had my first piece of chocolate, its all I've ever wanted. What about you? What do you want to do?"
"I would love to become a teacher. I've been saving up to do a teaching course." I reply happily. "Right now I work in the shop down the road as you know."
"Ah, yes, I visited the other day." He says almost remembering."Here." Mr Wonka hands me an apple from one of the trees. I take it, smile gently and take a bite of it. Its better than normal apples thats for sure.
"This is good." I say smiling. "Have you tried making candy floss grapes. I tried them at school once when my friend had them. They were really nice, not to give you advice or anything but if you made something healthy that still tasted nice parents would buy it for children more often causing more money into your bank account." I say quietly, not wanting to upset him or something.
"Thats quite clever, my dear." He says smiling at me.
