The city passes her car window fast as her driver leads her over the bridge and out of the city.
Today, Dave gave everyone a break from shooting.
The scenes had been getting heavier and heavier with each episode and to say it wasn't taking it's toll on everyone- would be a lie.
It had been shooting some of the final scenes for the extra nine episodes of season one and those extra scenes were anything from charming and joyful.
Ringing!!!
"Didn't I just get rid of you?" She teases with a soft smile as she answers his phone call.
"Rid of me? Girl- you will never get rid of me."
"Mhmm..." She blushes to herself and takes in the scenery.
"What are you doing?" Ryan asks charmingly.
"On my way out of town."
"Y...you're coming back right?" He nervously asks and she sadly smiles to herself.
"I don't know...I think I might skip out on the next few episodes. Not like I'm needed much anyway." Her scenes have been a bit minimal and lackluster. She hasn't had the thrill she had episodes earlier where she's having sex in the diner bathroom or trekking through snowy streets to help people.
"F...Freema—I...I think you should reconsider and not just for the show, but because...we'll, I...I really..."
"Ryan- I'm joking!" She stops him before he says anything that will change their dynamic. Their chemistry is uncanny and she would be lying if she said she didn't think about them being more than coworkers and friends.
"G...Good. You had me there for a moment."
"I know I did."
"So, where ya going?"
"Just to a little resort out in Ithaca. Should be relaxing."
"Damn- I should've went with you. I could use a relaxing getaway."
"I'm sorry- you could've. Though, I don't know how exciting it would be for you at a day spa. Massages and soaking in mud baths aren't for everyone."
"Massages, eh? Why didn't you say you needed one of those? I give very good full body massages at no expense other than a candle lit dinner." His tone overall is playful and charming, which burns her cheeks even more. Lately, he has become more bold and daring with his comments. Yet he never outwardly comes out and tells her what he wants from her.
"A candle lit dinner is an expense that not everyone can afford."
"I'm sure it's cheaper than your fancy resort." Looking at her trembling hand on her knee, she tries to calm herself, but he is quickly rising her blood pressure.
"Possibly...but it's not about monetary value— now is it? It's matters of the heart. As I'm sure you're well aware, matters of the heart pose the possibility of greater loss. It's for that reason that your candle lit dinner is more expensive than my resort. At a resort, I don't have to protect anything. I don't have to be cautious of losing anything sacred. Now do I?" He stays quiet for quite some time. He knows she's right.
He understands her side of the coin.
Yet that doesn't stop him from wanting her to risk it.
