The next day after Kara left, Sydney sat in the laundry room with her laptop, prepping her notes for her meeting with Kate in the morning while her clothes dried. She was just about finished when her phone buzzed. She closed her laptop and picked up her phone.

Hi beautiful

Hey handsome...how are the ribs today?

They're fine, stiff, but I'll live

Good to know

What does your schedule look like this week? I believe I owe you a home cooked dinner

Sydney looked at that message in confusion before she remembered why and smiled.

That's right, someone lost a bet. What works for you?

Tomorrow night works for me

Can't wait to see me, huh?

Can't get enough of you is more like it

She smiled at the message.

I'm out at 5 tomorrow since I have that meeting in the morning, so I'll be there after that. Can I bring anything? Wine? Dessert?

Nope, I'll have it all covered. All I need is you

Sweet talker

Text me when you're ready to leave and I'll give you the address. Until then...

Sydney closed her eyes and sighed happily.

"Gee, I wonder who you were talking to?" came a voice from the doorway.

She opened her eyes and laughed. "Hi Andy."

"Hey Syd." He looked at her phone. "Bryce?"

"Yeah, he's cooking me dinner at his place tomorrow night." She put her phone down on her laptop in her laundry basket.

"Really? Going to spend the night?" Andy asked as he waggled his eyes at her.

"Hadn't really thought about it." She said as she stood up. "I mean, maybe...I don't know." She looked at him. "Is it something I should be ready for?"

"You tell me. Are you ready for that yet?" He started filling up a washing machine.

"Well, without getting into detail, I would have last night at the club..."

"You went to The Castaway without me...again? Hey wait." He stopped what he was doing. "I thought it was a sister's night. Did you take Kara?"

"She wanted to meet Bryce and wasn't going to take no for an answer, so when I asked him if he was ok with it and since he was working last night, we met up at the club."

"I have got to stop making plans on Saturdays with the guys." He shook his head and grabbed his laundry soap. "So, details please."

"Let's just say we took advantage of the privacy, but my dress wasn't made for spur of the moment." She heard the timer go off on one of her dryers. She walked over and started taking the clothes out.

"Which one did you wear?" He asked as he started his first machine.

"I don't think you've ever seen it. I bought it after Brad left but didn't have the guts to wear it out." She put her clothes on the table and started folding them. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Shoot."

"In your last relationship, your last real one, how long did it take you to tell the other person you loved them?"
