Year 850, Trost District
The next three years blew by in a breeze. Countless hours of listening to Shadis screech and holler at us and working our asses off until we dropped dead finally paid off.
Throughout the time spent at the Training Corps, I managed to befriend most of the other cadets in my division. Namely Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie. Something about them just felt familiar.
Jean, Connie, and Sasha also became good comrades that I knew I could rely on. Plus, the three of them together radiated chaotic energy and brought a sense of humor into the harsh military life.
Whether it be Sasha getting caught for stealing food again, Connie getting flipped by another cadet during combat training, or Jean picking another fight with Eren and getting his ass handed to him by Mikasa.
I found a special place in my heart for them all and I didn't know what I'd do without them in my life.
One particular moment that came to mind was during dinner one night, Jean and Eren were going at it again and someone stopped them just in time as Shadis stormed into the room claiming he heard loud noises.
Mikasa covered up the whole situation saying Sasha had ripped a huge fart. God, that was the funniest thing.
Now, having travelled back to Trost, we, the Southern Division of the 104th Training Corps, graduated.
Currently, our group stood in formation stiffly in front of our superiors. One of them was speaking.
"We have paid the price for 100 years of peace with tragedy, and given the sense of crisis at the time, we were direly unprepared for the sudden appearance of the Colossal Titan.
"It wouldn't be much of a surprise if that titan were to show up and destroy this wall at this very moment. Whenever that time does come, your duty is to relieve the producers and lay down your lives to stand against the titans.
"Dedicate your hearts!"
He ended his speech with this line, and every cadet saluted in sync and shouted; "Yes, sir!"
"Today, you have completed your military training," he continued, pulling out a piece of folded paper and scanning it with his eyes. "I will now announce the ten among you who have obtained the top training results. Step forward if I call your name."
"At the head of the class, Mikasa Ackerman.
Second, Reiner Braun.
Number three, Bertholdt Hoover.
Number four, Annie Leonhart.
Number five, Rinjie Caine.
Number six, Eren Jaeger.
Number seven, Jean Kirschtein.
Number eight, Marco Bott.
Number nine, Connie Springer.
And number ten, Sasha Braus.
You are the top ten of your class."
I've done it. I've made it into the top ten. Who would've thought?
"And now that you've completed your training, you have three choices. The Garrison, who reinforce the walls and protect the towns. The Survey Corps, who are prepared to sacrifice their lives outside the walls by eradicating the titans. And the Military Police Brigade, who exercise control over the King's subjects and maintain order.
