You hadn't seen Natasha this angry before. You had just picked up a mission and the victim happened to be none other than Bruce Banner. Nat was so passionate while following the clue path, that you couldn't help to feel a bit jealous. After all, she had kissed him, wanted a relationship with him, even. Deep down you were afraid that she loved Bruce. Now y/n y/l/n, not the jealous type, but it was different with Natasha, you were different with Natasha. Losing her, that was something you were sure you'd never recover from. You didn't let that stop you from finding out who the killer was though. Your only mistake was letting Natasha find out too.

You pulled up to the killer address. Nat's motorcycle was strewn carelessly on the curb. You eyed it suspiciously as if at any moment it would jump up and shoot at you. You entered cautiously; gun drawn. You looked around cautiously, then heard a crash in the next room.

Natasha had a gun pointed at the killer.

"Tash?," you said, voice wavering slightly, "don't."

She didn't even look away, "Y/n, you should go," she turned her attention back to the killer,

"you murdered him, for what? Greed? Needed a few extra bucks?" You didn't know what else to do. Your legs shook as you walked up to Natasha and placed a hand on her shoulder. She stopped walking. Progress.

"Tasha, I know you want to punish him, but this isn't how we do things. I know it was your job, but it's not anymore. Please baby," despite everything in you screaming not to, you buried your face in her chest, shutting your eyes as tight as you could. A gun shot sounded through the room and you flinched, then her arm snaked around her and you pulled away slightly. Tasha's gun was on the ground by your feet and the man was wrapped in a net she'd ejected from her wrist shooter. You looked up at her,

"you didn't kill him, why?" Natasha looked away from the murderer but never loosened his grip on you,

"I suppose because of you. I'm here now, with you. There is nothing I wouldn't do to keep it that way." You smiled, a warm glow spreading through your chest,

"You chose me." Natasha used the hand that wasn't holding you to gently brush the  hair out of your face.

"I will always choose you, Y/n." She kissed you. It wasn't like you hadn't kissed a million times before, but your world spun as you once again realized how much you loved the woman in front of you and how god damn lucky you were that she loved you back.
