Chapter 9

-a few days later-

Lukas POV

Ever since that day I've been avoiding all contact with August. I don't really want to speak with him now. I can tell he does. All I've been doing to take my mind off things is working.

But I've been going to my ultrasound appointments.

August POV

I didn't know if he was avoiding me at first but he kept somehow disappearing once I said his name or went near him.

But every now and then I'll catch him staring at me then swooping his head away.

He... looks exhausted.

-a couple weeks later (Lukas is about a month into his pregnancy)-

Lukas POV

-at college lunch table-

"So~ I was thinking how about we all hang out at the karaoke? It just opened near the gym I go to!" Amber asked.

"I don't care," August said.

"Sounds fun!" Belle exclaimed.

"Sure," I replied. Lawrence nodded, but he looks happy.

"I'll beat you all in singing," Felix declared.

"Okay after our classes let meet at the xxx karaoke!" Amber really sounded into it.

We met outside of the karaoke bar.

"Is everything okay with you and August?" Lawrence asked me secretly.

"Yeah?"

"Well you've both been ignoring each other for a while now. Is it because you told him?"

"No. It's nothing."

He sighed, "Okay, but avoiding each other isn't going to solve anything. Just talk to him."

We entered the building.

"I'll bring you to your room," a waiter said, "have fun!"

We started to sing to songs.

Lawrence was surprisingly good at singing. When Amber sang, Belle and Lawrence couldn't stop laughing, apparently she sounded like a broken pipe.

Felix was too drunk to sing, he kept almost passing out.

I tried to focus on all the fun they were having.

But I could only see him. He was drinking and singing. Slurring his words.

"Haha," I chuckled. He looked at me in awe.

"You think you could do bett- better?" He said almost stumbling onto the floor.

"Pffft-" everyone started laughing.

After singing everyone started drinking except me.

"C'mon join the fun~" Felix was saying.

"No thanks. Someone has to get you all home tonight!"

"If you say so" Amber said while chugging down a shot.

An hour went by and they were all pretty much wasted.

I felt nauseous.

"I'm gonna go outside real quick," I said.

Waking out of the room, "sir could you keep an eye on my friends? I'm going outside for a second" the waiter nodded.
