August POV

-a couple of weeks later-

I've been busy at work as of recently. I finally got my lunch break.

[Calling: Luka 💕]

"Hi"

"Hiii. Luka. I'm going to work overtime today"

"Oh. When will you be back home?"

"Probably 6PM"

"That's late!" He exclaimed.

"I know. I'm sorry" I sighed.

"No. It's okay. I hope work is easy"

I smiled, "Yeah," my break is almost finished, "Gotta go! Goodbye!"

"Mn. Byebye"

I hanged up.

I walked back into the office. The coworkers were looking at me?

"Was that your lover?" Carl asked.

He's one of the employees.

"A girlfriend," she thought, "better yet, a boyfriend!" Yona asked.

I sighed. I walked back to my desk.

I'm not actually doing overtime. Lukas has been worrying too much over me because of it.

I'll leave at 2PM. Which is soon. I'm going to his parents house.

I'm driving up the road, parking my car. It's was a bit of a drive. I'm here though.

This is unplanned. But hopefully they'll accept me.

I walked to the door, knocking.

"Coming!" Someone shouted from inside.

The door made a ker-chank noise.

"August? How unexpected"

"Hi. Can I talk to you and your husband?"

"Sure. Come on in"

She opened the door for me.

I'm hearing a football game?

"Honey! August is here" she yelled, "He's watching his game" she chuckled a bit.

I nodded.

The noise came to a stop. Loud footsteps followed.

"Hello" I greeted.

"Hi August!" He said, "Is Lukas not with you?"

He seems a bit confused.

"I want to talk about something serious"

"Ah. I see"

He started walking over to the dining table. Isabelle and I followed. I sat down.

"So what is it, son?" He asked.

"I came to ask... can I have your son's hand in marriage?"

My head bent down.

"Oh" I heard his mom gasp.

Daniel was loudly laughing, "That's an old tradtion you just did"

He couldn't stop laughing.

"Yes. August. You may have his hand. You are a man that deserves it"

I smiled, "Thank you, sir"

Yes! All that matters now is whether or not he'll say yes.

His mother was already on the edge of tears.
