Chapter 10

Belle POV

I've always seen him staring at him.

Only him.

Why can't he look my way? All he ever does is reject me. Once I saw him staring at him with such love and affection.

Lukas doesn't even realize this. He's too busy worrying about himself. Because of Lukas, August isn't himself lately.

He lopes around places, hanging less and less around with us and he always smells like some kind of alcohol.

Lukas doesn't deserve his love.

I do.

(Belle: can we talk outside of school, August? I have something to tell you.)

I text him. A few minutes later I get a reply from him.

[August: sure. Is it important?]

(Belle: Yes.)

-after class-

We met up outside of campus in a secluded area.

"What's up?" He asked.

"You- you see... I'm pregnant. I think you're the father," He looks uncomfortable and doubtful.

I started to tear up a little.

"Huh? When did I ever have sex with you?"

"We were both drunk. I don't blame you."

Lukas POV

For some reason I was told by Belle to met near the back of the college.

I overheard her say something.

"You- you see I'm pregnant. I think you're the father!" she announced.

I'm shocked. Is this even true? Was I just a pawn of many pieces?

My knees worn out. Kneeling on the ground, I started to sob like no other.

I didn't want to hear what they were saying. It didn't matter. Is this why Belle wanted me to come here?

I started to run away.

I hate this. I was just coming to terms about everything between me and August.

Why now? August? Suddenly I crashed into someone. I felt hotness on my chest.

"Sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!" I say patting off my tears.

"Haha. Its okay. Are you okay?" He asked me, "You looked like you were running away from someone. Haha," he joked.

"Mn," He kept staring at me.

"Say I'll pay for your dry cleaners. It's my fault for getting it on you," He said.

Writing his number on a paper. "Just call me whenever"

"But I ran into you..." He just smiled and walked away.

How strange.

August POV

(Same scene as before with Belle's POV)

How is this possible though?

I'm not even into girls.

I only love Lukas.

Lukas.

"Are you sure you're pregnant?" I heard whimpering from a distance then footsteps pacing away from us.
