Tonight was a special night for both you and (c/n). Tonight you were meeting his parents. (C/n) had already met your family a few weeks back when you both decided it would be a good idea to get to know each others family's better. Fortunately, (c/n) fit right in. After he left that night, your mom couldn't stop talking about how handsome and considerate he was, and your dad was just excited to have someone to talk about sports and take to hardware stores with.

Now, it was your turn to meet his family. To say you were nervous would be an understatement. You really wanted to make a good impression on his family. You didn't want to get too ahead of yourself, but your relationship with (c/n) was going quite well and you could really see it going somewhere.

"You ready?"

(C/n)'s voice tore you out of your thoughts. You turned to look at him. He had the car keys in hand, eyeing you cautiously.

Without a word, you nodded your head and followed him out the door of your apartment to his parked car. He opened the door for you and let you in before walking over to his side.

When (c/n) turned the truck on, he noticed your tense state and reached over to grab your hand.

"They'll love you, I promise."

You smiled at him in return and placed your other hand over his. "Thanks, babe."

...

When you got to his parent's house, (c/n) was the one who knocked on the door. When it opened there were his parents, standing together and smiling brightly at you two.

"Come in, come in!" His mom motioned for you to come inside the house. She pulled you all into the living room before shutting the door and walking over to introduce herself.

"It's nice to meet you, honey," she said while reaching for your hand. "I'm Mrs. (c/l/n), but you can call me (c/m/n)."

You smiled and then turned to his dad, doing the same.

(C/n) stood behind, watching the three of you interact before going into the kitchen for a drink.

(C/d/n) placed an arm around (c/m/n) as she pulled her sweater closer around her body. She looked at you with bright eyes, clearly happy that you were all able to do this.

"So (y/n), we heard from (c/n) that you like (f/f)?"

Your eyes lit up at the mention of your favorite dish, but you were also secretly embarrassed that (c/n) had this whole ordeal catered to you.

(C/d/n) chuckled before clasping his hands together. "Well, I'm starving." He motioned towards the dining room. "Let's eat shall we?"

(C/n) came back from the kitchen to join you all in the dining room. He pulled your chair out for you before finding his own right next to you. You all passed some plates around to get your fair share of the food and you started to eat when his parents made some small talk.

(C/d/n) put his fork down before asking you about your job and things you liked to do. (C/m/n) listened intently to all this new information, while (c/n) sat there smiling proudly. You also got to know what his parents did for a living, and how long they've been living in their current house. You especially got interested when they brought up the family trip they took to Mexico one year.

"It was a few years back," his dad started. "(C/n) was pretty young but we wanted to take him out of the country while we still had time.

"We stopped at this little town on our road trip. The locals were really friendly, they even made a hat for (c/n)!" His mom took out her phone and showed you the picture. Sure enough, there was (c/n) standing there awkwardly with a bright sombrero on that was way too big for him. He was squinting from the bright sun and had quite a tan on him, but was still very pale compared to the locals.

"Mom please," (c/n) begged, trying to snatch the phone out of her hands. He glanced over at you and groaned, knowing it was too late when you started giggling.

"What?" his mom feigned innocence, placing her hand over her chest like she was shocked. "I think you look quite cute in that picture."

(C/n) rubbed his forehead slowly. "Can we please just talk about something else?"

The dinner table got very quiet before (c/m/n) decided to pop up again.

"So, when am I going to get grandkids?"

"MOM!" (C/n) slammed his fist on the table. You looked away, already blushing.

"We're not even engaged yet!"

"Okay, well then when's the wedding?"

"(C/m/n)", (c/d/n) started.

"Ya know, I think we're gonna head out," (c/n) said while standing up and motioning to you for the both of you to get the heck out of there.

"No honey, I didn't want to upset you," (c/m/n) said as she reached for him.

"It's actually getting quite late," you piped up. Everyone glanced at their phones and watches before deciding that it actually was really late.

"It was nice meeting you," you said while reaching over to shake their hands.

"Anytime honey," his mom said, leading you two to the door before closing it behind you.

As soon as the door shut, you both let out a loud breath before heading back to (c/n)'s car.

"I'm so sorry about that (y/n), my parents are really crazy sometimes."

You giggled as you took his hand. "It's alright (c/n), I understand how parents can be."

"Thank GOD," he huffed, "and don't worry about them pressuring us. We can take all the time we need."

You laughed before pulling him closer to you to steal a quick kiss. "Good to know."
