You groaned.
Of course, today was the day, out of all days, that your cursed period decided to show up.
Today, when you were supposed to go out with your boyfriend for dinner for his birthday.
Today, when you were supposed to meet his parents to show him what a wonderful person you were, and instead you were lying in bed with messy hair and blood on your sheets.
You looked at your phone to see it was only 6:30 in the morning. Fortunately, (c/n) had to work the night shift and wouldn't be back until around 8, leaving you plenty of time to clean up and pop some Tylenol in hopes that it would do the trick.
You got out of bed, cracking and popping on your way to the bathroom. You quickly discarded your dirty clothes and grabbed a set of new, clean pj's.
After setting them down on the counter, you turned on the bath and poured some bubble bath in hopes that it would bring up your spirits.
You tied your hair up before slowly stepping in, one foot at a time, letting the water completely engulf your body. Tendrils of steam drifted up and around you, making little beads of sweat appear on your skin.
You sunk in further, enjoying the way the warm water released all the tension in your body. You only wished that (c/n) could be in here with you, as you sat in between his legs.
Almost as if by coincidence, you hear someone fumbling with keys as the door to the house opens and closes. Heavy footsteps thunk down the hallway into your shared bedroom, where you can hear (c/n) changing from his work clothes.
"(Y/n)?" he calls your name.
"In here!" you reply, sinking into the bath further and further.
(C/n)'s footsteps pad towards the bathroom before slowly cracking open the door.
"(Y/n)?" He peeks his head around the door, fingers gripping the side before fully coming in. "What are you doing in here? Why are you in the bath so early in the morning?"
You heavily sigh as you tell him you woke up feeling like utter and absolute garbage.
His eyes flicker over your body, making sure that your body wasn't giving him any external signs of illness, before his eyes rested on the generous amount of period products lying on the counter.
"Oohhh, I see," he scratched his head awkwardly. "I'll tell you what, once you get out of the bath I have a surprise waiting for you." He gave you a wink and shut the door quietly.
After scrubbing yourself clean you dried off and left the bathroom to find (c/n) on the couch with your favorite snacks, blankets, and your favorite movie in the DVD player ready to go.
Your eyes started to water at the sight, but (c/n) quickly noticed.
"Honey it's okay, you don't have to cry," he said while taking you into his arms. He rubbed your shoulders comfortingly while you let all the tears out.
"I'm so sorry (c/n) it's just that I get so emotional on my period and I feel like shit and this is just so nice," you started to sob louder.
"Shh, calm down, it's alright." (C/n) started to rub your shoulders again. "There's nothing to be ashamed of."
Within minutes you started to calm down and slowly let yourself out of (c/n)'s arms. Once (c/n) knew you were ready, he spread the blanket over the two of you and started the movie. You watched joyfully as you saw your favorite character come onto the screen. Everything was fine until you remembered something.
"(C/n)! I'm supposed to meet your family tonight." You jolted up and looked at him, starting to get worked up again.
"Everything is fine (y/n), I'll just tell them you're not feeling well and we can reschedule, okay?"
You looked at him through tearful eyes and slowly nodded your head before resting on his shoulder.
About 40 minutes into the movie, you felt your stomach churning but you decided to ignore it, knowing it was probably all of the sugar you consumed at the start of the movie.
A couple minutes later, your stomach hurt again, but this time you knew better. You threw off the blankets before rushing to the bathroom and hurling all the contents of your stomach into the toilet. You heard (c/n) come up behind you but you ignored it as you started to hurl again.
(C/n) lifted your hair out of the way and rubbed your back in an attempt to soothe your quaking body. Once you were done heaving, he helped you sit back before offering you a glass of water.
"You alright now?" he asked you, side-profiling you to make sure you didn't have to spew again.
You weakly nodded your head in response, too afraid to say anything in case your body decided to betray you again.
"Let's get you into bed." (C/n) helped you stand up before wrapping an arm around your waist to make sure you made it to the bedroom alright. He made sure you had enough blankets, a trash can nearby, as well as some water on the nightstand.
"I'm going to run to the nearest pharmacy to get you some nausea meds, alright?" (C/n) kissed your forehead before quietly stepping out so you could get some more sleep.
"(C/n)?" you called him before he went out the door.
"Yeah (y/n)?"
"I love you."
(C/n) smiled to himself for a second before replying.
"Get some rest sweet thing."
