You and (c/n) have been a couple for a while now, and you recently decided that it was time to move in together. You were both in good places career-wise; (C/n) had started working immediately out of high school and has had a steady job since then, and you just earned your degree, allowing you to have a well-paying job.
You were apprehensive at first to even go house searching, but your unfailing love for each other and your desire to move up to the next step in your relationship put you where you were today.
You and (c/n) had been driving for hours and only saw three houses so far, all out of your price range and just not perfect enough. You were convinced that when you saw the perfect house, you would just know, but (c/n) was starting to get restless and lose hope.
"Here," you showed (c/n) your phone. "This one looks nice, is in our budget, and isn't too far from here."
(C/n) sighed in annoyance, obviously wanting to be done for the day, but he wanted to please you and knew that this would be the only way how.
"Fine, but this is the last one for today."
You shook his hand.
"Deal."
...
You arrived at the house fifteen minutes later. You were practically bouncing in your seat at the sight; This looked like your dream home. It had large windows, in a nice neighborhood, a sizeable lawn, and it even had a porch with a white swing on it. Seeing the house left you so excited, that you left (c/n) and went straight to the front door.
You opened the door and were met with a decent-sized foyer and a grand staircase going up to the second floor. If you went left around the stairs, you would be in the living room which had a wonderful stone fireplace in it. You were about to go check it out when (c/n) caught up to you.
"Hey, what was that--"
(C/n) stopped when he saw the beauty of what you were looking at. He was immediately entranced by the sight and for some reason, he had nothing else to say about grumping to see another house.
He slipped an arm around your waist and pulled you close to him. "What do you think of it, babe?"
"It's perfect," you breathed.
The two of you stood there, taking in the sight before you before a well-dressed woman with a binder approached you two.
"Hi, I'm Nancy," she greeted you. "I'm the realtor for the couple selling this home. Do you have any questions?"
You and (c/n) looked at each other before answering. "I think we're good, we just want to have a peek around the place."
"Wonderful!" Nancy clapped her hands. "I'll be in the kitchen if you need anything!"
You looked at (c/n) as if questioning him on where you should go first, but he only motioned forward with his hand. "After you, my dear."
You grinned in glee before bouncing up the staircase and heading straight for the master bedroom at the end of the hall. It was covered in plush, thick carpet. A queen-sized, bed was against the far wall, covered in red velvet sheets. There were two nightstands and two closets, which were right next to the door to the adjoined bathroom. In the bathroom, there was a large clawfoot tub, a small shower, two sinks, and a little toilet in the corner.
Once you were satisfied with what you saw, you peeked into the other two rooms upstairs. Both were clearly designed for kids. The thought of having a family with (c/n) made your heart swell, but that would have to be saved for a later time.
After searching the entire upstairs area, you went downstairs to quickly pass through the dining room to go into the kitchen. Through the kitchen was another bathroom and a washroom, just the perfect size for you.
You met (c/n) in the kitchen, both of you happy with your last stop. This house was your dream house. A house that both of you saw yourselves growing up in, raising a family in, and even growing old in.
You left Nancy with your number, excited to have somewhat of a chance of getting this house.
You both walked out of the house, hand in hand, content and at peace for the day.
...
Five days later you got a call from Nancy saying that the couple accepted your offer for the house. You thanked her quickly before hanging up and driving straight over to (c/n)'s apartment. You banged on the door, pounding your fist against the wood until someone came to open it. Luckily, it wasn't his roommate as you came there in a rush and didn't bother to check your appearance.
"What happened (y/n)?" (C/n) questioned you.
"We got it," you whispered, tears building up in your eyes.
(C/n) met your tone with a hopeful one. "We did?"
You nodded your head yes before flinging yourself into his arms and holding on tight.
"We're going to be house owners."
