"Just a few more steps!" you told yourself as you trudged through the snow.
You looked up at the little house in the woods that you and (c/n) shared and smiled. There were so many memories that you guys shared here, not only as kids but as newlyweds as well.
You loved the way the house looked in the winter. The white snow blended well with the brown wooded walls, and the chimney looked so cute with what looked like white puffy clouds coming out of it.
Once you got to the door, you opened and closed it as quick as possible. You didn't want any cold air to get in, and any warm air to escape.
Man it's cold out there!" you said while rubbing your feet on the welcome mat so you wouldn't track any snow into the house.
"(C/n)?!" you called. There seemed to be no sign of your husband anywhere . This was pretty normal for you, so you decided to start on supper.
You got out all the ingredients for what you were going to make. Tonight's concoction was chicken pot pie. As you were dumping the contents into the tiny bowl that you had, you heard the floor creak.
You turned around to see (c/n) standing in the doorway. His clothes were dirty, per usual, and there were bags under his eyes. You could tell that he had been working all day, but he really didn't have a choice. You guys were so low on money that you debated about sitting on the streets with a tin can and a sign, but being poor didn't stop your undying love for each other. Your thoughts were soon disrupted by (c/n) speaking.
"How long have you been out in the cold?!"
You stood there in silence and started fiddling with your jacket sleeve. (C/n) walked over to you and grabbed your shoulders. He studied your face for a few seconds. (C/n) noticed that your cheeks were flushed and you were shivering.
"(Y/n), you should know better than to be out that long, you'll catch a cold. You know we can't afford any other illnesses."
You thought of last month. (C/n) had come down with bronchitis and he had to rest which meant you had to do everything. Your thoughts were disrupted for a second time when (c/n) slid his arms around you. You were about to question him when he shushed you. You guys were so caught up in the moment of him trying to keep you warm that your food over cooked and dinner was ruined. "Great," you said. "Well I guess we'll just have to eat it like this."
*le time skip*
"(C/n) had just came out of the bathroom after taking a shower. You were laying on the air mattress. All of sudden you heard a loud thud and before you knew it, you were flying through the air.
(C/n) had jumped on the one side of the mattress and propelled you through the air. You landed on the floor while (c/n) was laughing hysterically.
"It's not funny." You said while pouting and crossing your arms. (C/n) started to laugh as he crawled towards you.
"I love you," he said, "whether we're billionaires or whether we're poor."
"I love you too."
Sorry this one was kinda weird. I just had some random ideas and I mashed them together.
