"Traffic has been completely stopped on I-95 North due to the impacting rainstorm. There have been several accidents already, most of which have been from folks hydroplaning off the road and into the guardrails. Looks like this hurricane is affecting the area quicker and harder than was predicted. Let's take a good look at the radar."

You and (c/n)'s whole family were piled onto the couches, surrounding the tv and listening intently. It had just started to rain an hour ago. What was a light drizzle turned to a downpour in a matter of two seconds, and you were getting 3 inches of rain an hour.

Your parents said you were supposed to be home an hour ago, but that changed quickly. You soon found yourself staying the night at (c/n)'s after his parents made a phone call to yours. There was no way anyone was driving anywhere in this.

Now, all your attention was on the screen as a blonde reporter pointed to various parts of the map to show what places were being impacted by the storm.

"Be warned of falling trees and other objects as the wind gusts will pick up to 85 mph this evening at around 10 pm. You can expect many broken limbs on the roads tomorrow, as well as some flooding until Tuesday. We'll get back to the news after this break."

(C/n)'s parents shut off the tv before standing up. (C/n)'s dad placed a hand on (c/n)'s shoulder. "Well kiddos, don't stay up too late even though we won't be going anywhere tomorrow."

(C/n)'s mom then came around, guiding (c/n)'s two younger siblings up to bed.

"(Y/n) honey, the guest bedroom is all made upstairs for you. Feel free to look in the hall closet for more blankets if you need any."

She then walked over to (c/n) before leaning down to give him a kiss on the cheek. She whispered an "I love you" to him and then headed up the stairs with the rest of the family.

When (c/n) looked back at you, you were already falling asleep on the couch. The sound of the rain
must have put you to sleep.

He smiled at your peaceful figure, before wrapping you up in a blanket and carrying you upstairs to your bedroom. He was tempted to place you in his bed but decided not to just in case his parents came in and freaked out.

(C/n) placed you down on the bed slowly, before pulling the covers over your resting form. He tucked you in lightly and leaned down to kiss you on the forehead. He whispered a few things to you, mostly consisting of "good night, sweet dreams," and "I love you."

After that, he quietly walked to the door before shutting it and headed to his own bedroom.

...

Around three in the morning, you woke up, disoriented and freaked out from the harsh winds outside. The rain angrily pelted against the windows, and you could hear the trees shake and groan in protest to the gusts.

You climbed out of bed, shivering as you made your way down the hall to (c/n)'s room. You knocked lightly on his door before tiptoeing in and walking over to his bed. He had the covers pulled up to his face, and all that was sticking out was little tufts of hair.

You whispered to him and lightly shook him awake. When he realized what was happening and that you were in his room, he smiled and closed his eyes, silently opening his arms and signaling for you to get into his bed.

You crawled in next to him, the blankets swallowing the two of you up. (C/n) turned around to face you, slinging an arm around your waist to bring you in closer. He hooked his leg over yours to tangle you together as one.

You inhaled his scent as it helped you drift back into a sleepy state again. The last thing you saw before closing your eyes for the night was (c/n), shielding you from anything that could ever go on in the world.
