"What do you mean baby?" Sora asks looking a little confused.
"My dad was here. This was his hospital room. I can feel his presence. He's looking down on me with sadness. And I failed you. I cut my wrist and told you I would stop." Melody replies as she starts crying more.
"I thought your dad died in action." Sora states with a questioning tone.
"No my dad didn't die in action. Yes, he was a military man and he got hurt many times, but he never died. My dad was my best friend. He helped me through everything. Just to die in the end from a broken heart." Melody states hoping to fix his confusion.
"What do you mean by broken heart?" Sora asks.
"My mom was cheating on him. She was going to take me away from him. Hearing that shattered my dad's heart. My dad couldn't take it so he sat at home all day and night watching my mom pack everything away. Right before we moved I walked over to my dad after I came home from school like I always did and started telling him about my day then I realized my dad wasnt breathing. So I screamed for help. My sister didn't care. My little brother was just a baby. And my mother couldn't hear. I wasn't old enough to know what happened until it was too late." Melody replies with a sad tone.
Is that why your sister says it was all your fault, baby?" Sora asks. Melody nods her head yes and starts to cry. "Baby, I didn't know. Everyone always said he died in action. So that's what I thought. I'm so sorry. I wish I could've been there for you." Sora says as he starts to tear up. He gets up walks over to Melody and wraps his arms around her, embracing her in a hug. Melody lays her head on his shoulder and starts crying.
