Greyson couldn't take his eyes off of Briar as she walked over to her friend Lani. She was unlike anyone he had ever met before. She wasn't someone who seemed to change who she was just from meeting him. So far, she's met him head on with insults and teasing. Briar seemed more relaxed than from that morning. Her hair hung in a long ponytail under a baseball cap. The jeans and top she wore outlined that hourglass figure even more so and Greyson thought he could definitely find himself running his hands along those curves til the day he died. out of everything though, the thing that drew him in the most was her eyes. Earlier he could've sworn they were grey, but seeing them just now, they had seemed a light blue.

His heart had started to catch in his chest, and Greyson wasn't sure what to do with that feeling. Asking her on a date was a lot more difficult than he originally thought it was going to be. She was intimidating, but he knew that wasn't the problem. Greyson was afraid. He was afraid that she would say no that he would never get the chance to know her. He wasn't sure why he wanted to know her so badly, but he just did.

"Whatchya doing?" Myrick's voice startled Greyson. He looked to the right to see Myrick there, shoving a hotdog smothered in mustard into his mouth. Greyson looked at him ridiculously.

"Wha?" Myrick said stupidly with a mouthful. Greyson huffed a laugh as he rolled his eyes and shook his head. He looked back over the Briar who was shouting as her and Lani watched the team of tiny humans run around like they knew what they were doing. Kids were weird.

"Is that waitress girl from earlier?" Myrick asked.

"Yup."

"What's she doing here? Does she have a kid that plays t-ball or something?" Myricks question caused Greyson breath to catch in his throat. He'd asked Briar earlier why she was here, but they were interrupted by Lani and she never did say. Holy shit, did she have a kid? He couldn't go out with someone with a kid, could he?

"Shit, I-I don't know," Greyson said stupidly as he looked over to his big-mouthed, idiot friend. Greyson was happy for about three seconds, and now that feeling was gone.

"Why're you pale? Did something happen between you two?" Myrick asked as he shoved the last bit of his hot dog into his mouth. Greyson ran his hand down his face.

"I asked her out on a date," he said now regretfully. Myrick started choking. Greyson shifted and started to hit his back hard until Myrick swatted his hand away.

"Shit dude, you're gonna break my spine," he coughed more, "you asked her out on a date? Like a real date? Not a Greyson, let's say we're going out but hookup instead, kinda date?"

Greyson glared at Myrick then started to walk to the field in the opposite direction, seeing Jimmy from his band standing close the Greyson's mother like a lost puppy.

"Yes, a real date. I even asked her what she'd like to do..." now he wished he hadn't. When it came to dating someone with kids, there were so many strings. The kid being one, the father of the kid being two, and then all the emotional baggage that dating a mother would be. Was he really up for that? Then again, what if she didn't have a kid, and she was just here supporting her friend? That was a possibility. No need to jump to conclusions just yet.

"Damn dude, that woman has gotten under your skin."

"I was just being nice," Greyson lied. Truth be told, she had gotten under his skin. It wasn't in the worst way either. He liked the banter, he liked the wit, he liked her. He found it strange and slightly humorous that she was confused by him asking her out, as if the possibility of him asking out someone as beautiful and witty like her was impossible. Then again, if she had a kid, that would pose as a problem.
