BNHA NextGen: The Lost Prince

Preface

Here is the sad truth; all men are not created equal. It all began when news of a child that could glow brightly was spread. After that, many exceptional children began to be born all over the land. They possessed fantastical magical abilities like those only seen before in fairy tales. Eventually, the fantastical became the mundane; and the world fell into chaos as wicked individuals used their magic for evil. In these terrible times, heroes of legend emerged to combat evil. These holy knights saved the people at the risk of their own lives. For their bravery, they were made rulers and protectors of the land and its people. The strongest and bravest of the holy knights was made the king. This was how the Kingdom of Yuei was created.

Unlike most kingdoms, Yuei is not ruled by families but by power. Only the best and most accomplished knights can rule over the land. While that may seem fair as it allows even a lowborn peasant to rise and take the position of count or duke; in practice, the oldest families who have ruled for centuries are usually amongst the strongest and best suited for higher status nobility titles. Anyone thinking of inheriting a title must become a knight and rise through the ranks. Those that make a name for themselves are granted the right to inherit or gain a title. In cases where there is no one in a family suited to inherit a title, it is not uncommon to have families adopt strong capable people, or have someone marry a well-known knight in the order. This has been seen the most in the royal family.

Queen Nana was an amazing warrior and an even kinder queen though she kept many secrets. Unknown to the public before she had been chosen to be the next queen she had fallen in love and had a child. Fearing how the pressures of royal life would affect her family, she left them behind to rule Yuei. Despite the council of elders' wishes, she never married, and when the time came, she adopted a young peasant boy making him her heir. While many had their doubts at first, this boy became a great hero and the first person in a long time to be truly worthy of the title Holy Knight: King Toshinori, the Holy Knight, All Might.

Much like Queen Nana before him, he was a fantastic ruler, and the kingdom experienced a time of unprecedented peace under his rule. Yet much like his predecessor who died tragically fighting evil, he too was unable to keep evil at bay forever. In an awe-inspiring fight against the Demon King, One For All, he became critically wounded and was unable to rule as the land's protector.

In his place, the Grand Duke Enji Todoroki, the Holy Knight, Endeavor, took over for leading the kingdom. While King Toshinori oversaw much of the politics, the Grand Duke became the ruler in all but name and public approval.

Many saw the Grand Duke's youngest son and his chosen heir as the most likely candidate as the next new king, while others saw the young commoner child, who had quickly made a name for himself for his powerful explosive magical abilities as the next likely candidate for the king. However, the true next king and the man who would turn a kingdom in imperil into an empire on the rise was Izuku Midoriya, the Holy Knight Deku.

Chosen and trained by King Toshinori himself, he united the land and put an end to the Demon King's reign of terror. He turned the Kingdom of Yuei into the Yuei Empire.

Once he became the emperor, he took his two lovers, Lord Shoto Todoroki, the Holy Knight Entropy, and Dame Ochaco Uraraka, the Arcane Knight Uravity. Both had become well known and beloved heroes in their own right with Lady Uraraka being one of a few very exclusive knights able to join the ranks of the Arcane Knights.

For a while, there was peace in the land. But all good things must come to an end....
