029. NEW PLAN

She hadn't remembered passing out, but then again who did? However, when she woke up it felt as if she had been hit by a cargo freight. She couldn't recall everything that had happened after she had evacuated the base on Crait, but she understood that she'd had an episode of sorts. Apparently the Jawas had only delayed the effects of whatever had happened to her rather than solve the problem. Was it annoying? Yes. Would she have liked to know that it was only temporary? Yes again.

She looked around the small room and noted that aside from the cot she laid on, the room was empty. At least until a member of the medical staff entered. He raised an eyebrow and seemed surprised that she was awake and sitting up.

"Feeling better?"

"Head is pounding," she mumbled.

"Then you should lie down," he rolled his eyes before holding out a cup, "Drink this."

"What is it?"

"Poison."

She raised an eyebrow.

He sighed, "Just drink it. It'll help with your head."

She remained skeptical but did as she was told.

"Always a fight," he muttered under his breath as he left the room.

She was left alone for a total of two minutes before the door opened again. She wasn't sure who she expected to enter the room, but she was certainly surprised to see General Kallus.

"What are you doing here?"

"I thought that I might check up on you."

"Why?"

He stood there stumped, "You know, I don't really know."

"Well thank you," she said, cracking a small smile, "It's kind of nice to see a vaguely familiar face when surrounded by strangers."

"May I?"

She nodded her head and he took a seat on the edge of her cot.

"How'd you end up here anyway?"

"Oh you know, just the usual mental breakdown," she said, more lighthearted than she should.

"Perhaps you shouldn't use the word 'usual' if you ever want to get cleared to leave," he suggested with a chuckle, "You know I've heard some interesting rumors about you."

"Like what?" she asked, almost intrigued.

"Well it's not every day that General Kenobi waltzes around the base," he said casually, "You wouldn't have anything to do with that now would you?"
