I woke up to the ghost-Koji-gone. Damn it. I sighed and yawned as the dogs sat up. Little Foot jumped into my lap and started to lick my face. I couldn't help but laugh.
"There's the laugh," came Peters voice. I pulled my dog away from me and looked over to the man, immediately embarrassed for some odd reason.
"Hey Peter," I mumbled. Then I saw the dogs had all jumped in front of me and Jubbs growled.
"Jubbs. Come here girl," Peter said. He held out a dog treat and handed it to her. She calmed down quickly after that and fell back asleep. I wanted to question it but didn't really think anything of it.
Little Foot tripped me as I stood up and Peter barely caught me.
"Geez. Dogs on edge today?" He asked. I nodded and found myself smiling a little.
"I guess so," I said with a soft laugh. He laughed gently and helped me back to my feet.
"Listen, while we were gone yesterday, was anyone here?" He asked. Before I could speak a hand was on my arm.
"Don't tell them Steve," it was Hafu. I knew to trust her for some odd reason, maybe it was my gut.
"N-no. I was alone," I lied. I don't know how well he knew me so I hoped he couldn't see through me. Hafus hand remained on my arm.
"Ok. I hope you're not lying," he said and walked away. I watched as the door closed and looked to Hafu.
All of a sudden, all 9 ghosts appeared. I jumped back and all three dogs looked up. I guess Jubbs had woken up.
"Why couldn't I tell him Cib was here?" I asked Hafu. The other 8 ones circled me. Hands were on my waist and I glanced back. Apollo.
"Listen. Cibs not a bad guy. Like I told you yesterday," Smajor explained. I opened my mouth to say something but DK covered my mouth. I shot a glare at him. "He didn't take your memories-" Smajor started to say.
"Then who did take them?" I asked as I escaped DK. Oddly enough I had to fight him. 5up went to answer only for Toast to throw open the door.
"Steve. The hell are you talking to?" He asked. I looked over in fear and shot a glance at the ghosts.
"Nobody! Myself!" I answered quickly. Toast shook his head and my dogs were growling at him. Something was wrong here.
"Toast. I know I didn't lose my memories to a crash. Tell me exactly what happened!" I snapped. He sighed in obvious frustration.
"Steve, what I don't tell you is to much. It will overwhelm you," he said. I looked at him slightly afraid. "Come on. Tina wants to continue with memories," he said. I nodded and followed him.
I could feel Dumbdog hanging onto my arm though and knew he wanted me to get away.
"Wait. I don't want to. I don't want more of those memories," I said quickly. Toast grabbed my arm roughly.
"Steve. I suggest you come with me now," he growled. I whimpered and followed in fear. Apollo tugged on me.
"Toast. Please. I'm scared!" I admitted. I jerked away and saw Apollo disappear. Fuck.
"No. Come on," he hissed. I was dragged harshly and against my will to the medbay. Toast said something to Tina. She nodded and they hooked me back to the machine.
Memories flashed before me and I screamed involuntarily. Memories of the pain of Autumn hurting me and James making me scream.
I started to cry from the fear. I felt my mind go fuzzy as well until the Skeld hit the ground. I felt the machine unplug.
I cried out and stared at them. I could tell I was shaking. Peter sat down next to me and I buried my face into his neck.
"No more please," I whimpered out. He rubbed my back and I felt hands in my hair. It felt nice so I didn't complain.
I pulled away and realized it was Ellums hands in my hair. He stood there looking weak from being visible.
I flashed him a smile and he disappeared. I let Peter pull me to my feet. My head was spinning though.
I was confused as Peter helped me to my room. I locked the door behind me after Peter left.
"Help me. Please. What the hell is happening?" I cried out. I collapsed to the floor and the dogs surrounded me. I felt myself pulled into a lap and I latched on.
"Hey baby. What's wrong?" Apollo asked me.
"I'm confused. What happened to my memories?"
"Alright. I guess we owe you the story. Koji?" He asked. The boy materialized out of the air and sat down next to me.
"Alright. Cib isn't bad. He didn't hurt you, actually, he tried to save you. He tried to save all of us," Koji started to explain. I tilted my head in confusion. "The Skeld did go down. Toast found you and took your memories,"
"How do I know you aren't lying?" I asked softly. DK appeared and gave me a look that said really
"We are ghosts Steve. I'm sorry and you don't believe us?" He said with a small glare. I rubbed the back of my neck.
"I guess you have a point. But why? Why would Toast do that?" I asked. I was confused and my head hurt for some reason.
"I don't know, but you need to get to Cibs ship. Trust us," Apollo whispered. All three disappeared and I was left alone.
"But how do I get in contact with Cib?" I asked myself. I started to search through the room and found a tablet.
It was like green just like Cibs suit. A note was attached to it.
'Sorry I had run off like that. Use this to get in contact and I'll come get you. Trust the ghosts' it read
