I sighed and couldn't find anything interesting in the spell book. I stood up and watched as the door opened. I shoved the book under a pillow.

Toast walked in and grabbed my arm roughly. He dragged me out of the room and back to the greenhouse. I jerked my arm away.

"I can walk by myself Toast," I growled. He glared at me but didn't try and grab me again.

He shut the greenhouse door and I saw Tubbo standing there. He glanced at us and flashed a smile.

"Hey guys. I was helping out Sykunno while he's out," Tubbo said and walked towards us. Toast smirked and grabbed him. Tubbo looked afraid.

"So Steven. I have Tubbo right here," he threatened me. I glared at him and shot a worried look at Tubbo

"I already agreed to help you. Let him go," I said and crossed my arms. He smirked and dropped the boy. Tubbo moved close to me.

I pulled him behind me and kept a steady glare on Toast. I was pissed at him for threatening Tubbo. He was a child. He is a child.

"So what was the reason you dragged me here?" I asked him. Tubbo watched us. Toast frowned at me

"I know you're good at fighting. Now, if we ever come across your team, you have to fight them. Even kill them if needed," he hissed. I froze.

"Kill them? My team?" I asked in fear. It came out scared and snappish. He smirked at me and walked closer

"Of course, unless you'd like me to kill them slowly," he said in a warning tone. Tubbo kept hiding behind me.

"I hate you Toast. And I don't wanna help you. But I am, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't make me hurt my team,"

"I'd watch your mouth," he snapped at me and pulled out a knife. He started to reach for Tubbo but I moved him away.

"Ok fine. I'm sorry," I said quickly so I could protect the young boy. Toast smiled and nodded, happy that I gave in.

"Good. We've tracked Cib and your team to Polus. We fight them tomorrow," he said. I turned and left, Tubbo following me closely.

"You don't want to fight them, do you?" He asked me. I shook my head and sighed deeply. I didn't have a choice. And I knew it too

"I don't know if I want to. But I don't want them to know they have to fight me," I whispered, knowing it would break their hearts

"I have an idea. You won't like it but..." he said. I looked at him and signaled for an explanation.

I knew the moment he pulled out the spell book I wasn't gonna like it. He opened the book and flipped through a few pages.

"I didn't translate this one, mainly cause I can't do the entire spell. But I know who can," he said and handed me the book. "It's a memory spell. You can take their memories briefly,"

"I will, but you need to get out yourself. You and Fundy," I said, I knew what I needed to do.

"Ok. Have Fundy translate. There's a dropship on the way for us anyway," he said. "Oh, be careful. If you do the spell wrong it can be permanent," he warned me. I nodded and left for Fundys room.

I slipped in and sat down next to Fundy on his end. He looked at me. His hands were cuffed behind his back and ropes kept him from moving.

"Fundy. There's a dropship on the way for you and Tubbo. But I need you to translate this spell for me," I said. He nodded and looked at the page.

He read it very slowly to me and I wrote it down. I headed back to my room and read through the spell.

The sirens went off and I ran out. Fundy and Tubbo were heading to the dropship with Toast and Peter on their heels.

I watched. I wasn't helping them catch my friends. If I didn't keep Fundy and Tubbo safe, then I wouldn't hurt my team.

Toast and Peter stormed back through without Tubbo and Fundy. I felt bad only for Toast to grab me. I jerked away again.

"Would you stop fucking grabbing me!" I snapped at him. He growled in a warning tone.

"Let me tell you, you don't continue to help us, I'll kill your entire team slowly," he threatened. I stepped back and nodded. My team.

"Ok. I get it. I'll be in my room," I snapped and walked off quickly. I shut my door and grabbed my spell book. I opened it and flipped to the page.

I started to chant out loud. I felt the magic pulsing in me and the red blast that felt strong

"When blackness comes, And trust does die. Make sure they can't fight. Wipe their memories clear of me. To make sure they can feel free," I chanted. I felt the pulse of the magic.

My mind felt gone. I flew over the ship. I could see it. It was weird. The red flew through the ship and it just every person.

Except one. I couldn't tell who it was but a dog stood near them. The blast went around and I was thrown back into my body.

I grunted and hoped it would work. It was brief and the spell shouldn't last long. I glanced at it again and saw a smudge on the paper. I froze

When blackness comes
And trust does die
Make sure they can't fight forever
Wipe their memories clear of me
To make sure they can feel free

Forever? Why didn't I remember writing that? Why didn't I see the smudge before? I messed up.

"It's permanent. They won't ever remember me again," I whispered and felt myself start to cry. I fucked up a spell again. And my friends would pay the price
