Submerged

I woke up to the dogs barking. I felt the dropship dock and hugged Little Foot close to my chest. Was I ready for this?

I stepped off and saw a woman in white and another in blue. I glanced at Sleepy and David. David looked less than happy to be here.

"I thought I would never come here again," he mumbled. Jubbs ran next to him and Sleepy kept holding Sugi.

"Hello! Sleepy, David, glad you two are safe. Steve, I'm Wolfabelle, this is my second in command, Ash," she said. I shook her hand and set my dog on the ground.

"So, when does Cib pick me up?" I asked, and shifted my weight. I just wanted someone I knew. And I had so many questions.

"In a day or so. He wants to make sure you're safe first. Ash, go contact James," Wolfabelle ordered. Ash turned and left quickly. "You three. Medbay scan," she ordered us.

I followed Sleepy closely as David walked behind us. I could tell he still wasn't happy to be here.

Kimi materialized out of the air and I looked over to her. She flashed me a smile.

"Just came to tell you, Cibs on his way. They'll be here tomorrow at some point," she said. I couldn't help but smile at that news.

"And who told you to tell me that?" I asked. Sleepy glanced back at me and realized I was talking to a ghost. David pretty much ignored me.

"Ash just asked a ghost in the room. She knew me and Janet had followed her,"  she said with a soft laugh.

"I'm glad. Im ready to see someone I know," I told her. She placed a hand on my back while we kept walking.

"I know. I'll leave you alone now," she said and vanished. I stared at where she had been only a moment ago.

"Bye I guess," I mumbled. We walked into a medbay place and scanned. Then we were brought to rooms.

It was morning and I just wanted to relax a little. The dogs had followed me and split away from David and Sleepy.

I was carrying Jubbs right now before placing her on the bed. I sighed and rubbed Little Foots head.

I sat down on the floor and a face appeared in front of me. It was Smajor.

"Hey Scott. What are you doing in here?" I asked softly. He smiled and brushed the curls from my face.

"Go find Train. He has something that can help you," Scott said softly. I stared at him in confusion

"What could help me with what?" I asked. Smajor only smiled secretly and disappeared. I groaned.

"You ghosts are so secretive. Why can't you just tell me?" I asked out loud, hoping for an answer.

No answer came and I sighed. I don't know if I expected one but I wanted one. What would help me? And help me with what anyways?

It's not like I could get my memories back. Right? Or would it mean that my team wouldn't be ghosts? What if they could be alive?

I stood up tiredly before walking out of my room. I realized I had no clue who Train was. Fuck. That's not helpful.

I started to just walk around the halls, the dogs following me every step. I looked down at them and couldn't help but smile.

"Steve!" Came a males voice. I turned to look at him and saw him wearing a black suit. He wore a small smile as well. "I'm Train," he said. He held out his hand and I shook it.

"Um, do you by chance have something for me?" I asked. He smiled and nodded before pulling out an unmarked book.

"Keep this close. You'll soon see why. I guess Scott found you?"

"Y-yeah. How'd you know it was Smajor?"

"I just know. Oh, and keep this away from everyone else. Including Cib. No matter how badly you want to give it to him," he said and walked away.

I headed back to my room with thoughts in my head. Why would it matter if I kept it away from Cib? And what was the book?

I looked at the name on the spine. Shlatt. The hell type of name is that? and why have an unmarked book?

This was certainly not normal. Right? I got back to my room and sat down on the floor again.

Jubbs and Sugi curled up together while Little Foot layed on my lap. I opened the book and found words.

Not surprising considering it's a book but...it was different. Almost as if in a different language. But how do you read that?

The matters were confusing. As if they were just symbols. They seemed familiar but at the same time they seemed off.

And why would I keep this from Cib? From anyone? If someone could read it then why shouldn't I get their help?

Why and where did Train get it from? Nobody would just give this book to someone they didn't like or trust. Right?

"You can't read this though," I muttered to myself. I looked around, praying that 5up or Hafu or someone could come tell me what the book said.

I looked at the cover. It was a plain leather book cover, like a diary. A piece of stretch cord keeping the book from falling open.

A title appeared, in my hand writing as well. It scared me and I dropped the book.

'Do not Open. Steve's book' it read. I opened it and nothing changed. The name on the spine didn't change either.

So why change for me and not with Train or keep the original title.

"What the hell type of book is this?" I asked myself out loud. I stared at nothing for a moment and prayed that someone would answer me.

Nobody did of course. The ghosts only came when they wanted, not when I wanted them
