Clara was cold. She always seemed to be cold when she wasn't in the Tardis. Cold and tired. The Tardis had become something of a second home to her.

But she hadn't been in the Tardis in just over a year, 14 months, to be exact. She had feared the Doctor had forgotten about her, and 2 months ago, she had started to believe it too.

With a defeated sigh, she brought the cigarette to her lips, breathing in slowly as she felt her lungs fill up with smoke. She had promised the Doctor she would stop as soon as she went on their firat adventure. When she was on an adventure, she didn't need the adrenaline smoke gave her, she had enough.

She flicked the cigarette towards the ashtray and ran her hands through her hair. She searched around her messy room, so messy that you couldn't see the floor. It seemed like everything she saw was in black and white.

She pulled on jeans and a black rolling stones top, grabbing her leather jacket before walking out the door, locking it behind her. She took a deep breath, walking down the stairs and out the building.

A gust of air hit her in the face as she turned, walking towards the café that was a few buildings down. Something caught her eye as she passed windows. Something, or someone behind her.

She turned quickly, tears brimming her eyes as she walked towards the Doctor. "What do you want?" She spat at him.

As soon as she had saw him, he had disappeared. Fine. She thought. She turned the other direction, towards the pub.

"You know, I think Im fine to walk home!" Clara slurred her words to the stranger that she was chatting up. After a few shots, she had grown tired and just wanted to go home and sleep.

She opened the door loudly, slamming it behind her as she walked into her messy apartment. She tripped over something, falling on top of her room mate, whom she had forgotten about, Amy Pond.

Amy looked at her and helped them up. "Wow. You're snockered." She laughed as she looked at Clara. The Birmingham girl through her leather jacket on the couch in an exasperated way.

"Yeah well you know..." She laughed, not able to form words.

"Clara, is everything okay?" Amy asked, sitting down beside her. Clara got up, rushing to her bedroom and lying down while yelling loudly she was fine.

Amy groaned, following her in, sitting on the bed as she played with Clara's hair. "Why did you do this to yourself?"

"Doctors back." Clara muttered before falling asleep finally.

----

"You could have died last night!" Clara heard a voice. Her head was pounding as she kept her eyes closed. "I had to help you home!"

She opened her eyes slowly and carefully. Around her wasn't her apartment. "Doctor..." She let out quietly.

"Hi, love."
