Eren's POV:

       I woke up. The sun was rising and the road seemed a bit more empty. I looked over. Y/N was driving peacefully, keeping her eyes on the road. She looked like she had a lot of things running through her mind. Dark circles crept under her eyes. The suns rays gently kissed her skin. It almost looked like she wasn't real. That this wasn't real life.

     "Y/N?" I said, sitting up in my chair. Her eyes widened a bit before turning to me. "Nigga you scared the shit outta me." She said as she put her hand to her chest. I chuckle a bit. I hope she didn't think I was mad at her from last night. "Pull over, I want you to get some rest before we get there." I said. She shook her head. "I'm fine." She said. "That wasn't a question, N/N. Pull over, I got it." I said. She thought about for a second then reluctantly pulled over.

      We both got out of the car and stretched. I popped the trunk. Y/N got in the passenger seat and closed the door. I grabbed a blanket from the trunk and closed it. I opened Y/N's door. "Come here." I said softly. She wrapped her arms around my neck as I wrapped her in the blanket. I gently let her down into the seat and let her sit back. I put her seatbelt on her. I looked her in her tired but beautiful eyes. "You good?" I asked her, wanting to know if she was comfortable. She raised an eyebrow as she slowly nodded. She was confused as hell.

I close the passenger door and hop in the drivers seat. We get back on the road. I can feel her looking at me crazy, but I don't mind. I can see her progressively getting more comfortable and begin to dose off. "I meant what I said last night..." I whispered. I don't know if she heard me because when I turned to her, she was knocked out. Her hand was seemingly reaching for mine. I gently grabbed it and didn't let go.

      We drove for hours before anyone called. And during those hours I thought about a lot of shit. I really do want to end things with Historia. This break would be the perfect time to do it. Most of the time if I tell a girl I love her, I'm just trying to get into her pants. But this time I really mean it.

      I don't know why it happened or how it happened. It just happened. That one night, when she held me. She held me close when I was scared and felt all alone. She didn't say anything, she just laid there. She rubbed my back as I was scared shitless and on the verge of crying, even while she was mad at me.

     Connie ended up calling her phone at 10. I picked up. "She sleep right now. What's up?" "Ummm... *yawns* gas station off of 45" he said, sounding like he just woke up. "Ok..." I said. I hung up and got off the exit. When we got to the gas station, I decided not to wake her up. Connie and Historia came up to the car. I let go of Y/N's hand.

        Historia knocks on my window and I roll it down. "Good morning, baby? Can I ride with you today?" She said. She looked in the car and saw Y/N sleeping. "Oh my god, babe, did she make you drive all night?" She went to the other side of the car where Connie was. Connie signaled her to back up. "She drove till sunrise, when I woke up I told her I wanted her to get some rest." I said. Why is she interrogating me this early in the morning?

Connie opened Y/N's door. He lightly shook her to wake her. She moved a bit but went back to sleep. "Get up, ma. You gotta eat." He said, shaking her more violently. Her eyebrows furrowed. "If you don't stop shaking me, ima punch you dead in yo eye." She said opening one eye to look at Connie, then closing it and re-wrapping the blanket around her. As she got more comfortable, Historia got a closer look at her face. She saw a purplish mark on her lip. "What the fuck happened to your lip?" She said pointing at her own to show where the mark was.
