Chapter eight

I heard a phone ring loudly, causing me to open my eyes swiftly..I looked around and picked up my cell phone from Colby's bedside. Wren's number irritated me and I picked up the phone impulsively.
"oh finally you pick up. Its been like three days. I miss you." Wren's voice made me cringe, I rolled my eyes, "Can you leave me alone already? I told you I need time to myself." I whispered as best as I could, looking at Colby who laid beside me. He was still sound asleep. "Where are you staying, im worried about you.." He mumbled, he didn't..right? This was just his way of trying to manipulate me back to him...right? "That's not your business.."
"You're such a bitch sometimes Iris. Seriously I can't-" Colby began to move and I hung up the phone immediately. Right timing to be honest.
Colby's eyes opened slowly and he smiled up at me.
"Morning." He shut his eyes again, "Good morning."
"Sleep well..?" I asked, he nodded, stretching his arms out, "After sex like that. For sure." He looked at me again, a grin on his face, "you?"
"I haven't slept that good in a long time..sorry if I woke you by the way, Cassie called me.." I lied,
"That's okay.." He slowly sat up.
"I actually think i'm going to head home..I have some editing to do..errands to run." I got up out of his bed, picking up my clothes off the floor, I quickly threw them on. "Oh okay..well..if you have some time tonight, you should stop by the bar..The roommates and I are going out later." I nodded, "yeah, sounds fun. I have to go! talk later!" I picked up my purse and rushed out without another glance.

I made my way into Cassie's apartment, it was one in the afternoon but I was still careful to not wake her, up with the way she parties at night, she'll hold a grudge. I made my way into the hallway to my room and her bedroom door widened, she shot me a mischievous grin, "Where were you last night?"
I turned to her and frowned,
"Did I wake you? Im sorry.." She shook her head, "no. You didn't actually. But, answer my question."
"I was out.."
"Please don't tell me you went back to your place." She crossed her arms in disappointment.
"No. I was at Colby's again..we hung out again."
"Hmm..just hung out.?"
"I don't kiss and tell. I'm going to shower!" I shouted as I stepped into my room.
"Good we're going out tonight! To the bar!"
"I have to work!" I shouted as I grabbed my towel and clothes, making my way back out, she rolled her eyes, "after. Enjoy your shower. There's no saying no to coming out with me tonight." She smiled and shut her bedroom door, I rolled my eyes and made my way into the bathroom.

I stood with Cassie as she spoke to the bouncer at the bar, flirting our way in. I couldn't believe she'd convinced me to come out again. My social battery was drained, especially with these past few days..I feel like she just wanted me to keep my mind off things..but I would rather be at home, working..relaxing..She grabbed onto my hand and pulled me past the bouncer, grinning at me as we walked into the place, it wasn't a dark crowded bar, it was actually kind of fancy. I looked around and spotted Wren, I felt my heart drop. Why.
I tried to make myself not noticeable as Cassie sat at a table, I joined her slowly.
"Let's get our drinking on!" She pulled the menu to her face and I slowly looked back at Wren, he was talking to some blonde girl, I felt nothing for it, except annoyed.

After a few drinks and Cassie and I just enjoying ourselves, I had completely forgotten about Wren.
As if he didn't even exist. "So sex with Colby?!" She grinned with excitement, I rolled my eyes, "Next topic." I sipped on my drink and she grinned,
"I guess i'll be able to see the tension myself." She looked behind me and I furrowed my eyebrows, turning my head slowly, I looked around and saw him, dress in all black, a black jean jacket to match thrown over himself, his blue eyes met mine and he grinned. I turned my head back to Cassie in a panic.
"Do I look okay?" I whispered, she nodded.

"Hey ladies." His voice made me turn to him and I smiled, his eyes met mine and only mine.
"Hi Colby." Cassie mumbled, "Hi." I spoke shyly.
"How did you know this was the bar ?" He asked me suddenly, I raised an eyebrow, "huh?"
"This morning, I asked if you wanted to meet me, you never texted me to find out where." I suddenly remembered what he said as I rushed out,
"Oh this is a coincidence..Sorry I wasn't really paying attention this morning, I was in such a rush." I spoke nervously, Colby raised an eyebrow as he continued to stare at me, "A good coincidence right?" I nodded, "Great one."
"Why don't you girls come join us?" He asked, looking at Cassie this time, she nodded, getting up with excitement. Colby's hand reached down to me and I picked it up gracefully, he began to walk us to his table, I felt myself blush at his touch.

I then felt someone yank onto my arm, pulling me away from Colby. It stung as I began to get pulled even further. Colby turned back and rushed to follow me. I glanced at the one who gripped onto me tightly and he pulled me outside away from the bouncer and into the alley beside the bar.
"So that's Colby. The explorer? So you are being a whore!" He shouted, Colby then appeared beside us, Cassie by his side. Wren's grip tightened on my wrist and I whined in pain.
"Yo let her go, what the fuck are you doing?" Colby shouted, Wren laughed and pulled me under his arm, letting go of my wrist.
"Just keeping my girlfriend company. What're you doing?" Colby had a confused look on his face and I looked at Cassie. "Don't listen to him, he's crazy." She stepped before us and grabbed my hand, pulling me out from under Wren. "You don't know how to give a girl space do you? Burn in hell Wren. I never fucking liked you." Cassie spat, as we walked away from him, I looked behind me and watched as Colby followed us. Why did I forget he was here..
