Chapter one

I giggled as I continued to text Cassie, she was making sure I got home safe from our night out at the club that she dragged me to.

cassie<3: Get ur big titty ass home!! its midnight!

me: 😳i'm in my hallway. Calm down!

cassie<3: excellent, hopefully Wren isn't mad I kept you out so late🙃

me: stop being a smart ass. Twelve is late..

cassie<3: whatever you say grandma. Are you home yet?

me: in front of the door, thanks for shaking your ass on me tonight 😏

cassie<3: you are more than welcome. I miss going out with you..

me: me too Cass, im sorry..Wren hasn't been the
typing..

cassie<3: the nicest. I know. Tomorrow though, or if you change your mind and want to come back to the club, im still here..🤔😙💃🏼

I rolled my eyes and chuckled as I stood before my apartment door, reaching into my purse for my keys. I shuffled through my bag and grabbed them, hurrying to unlock the door, I walked inside and there were two wine glasses laying on the kitchen island, my eyebrows furrowed and I heard a mumble come from my bedroom. "God you look so sexy." Wren's words made my heart beat faster, I slowly made my way towards the door, it was creaked open a small amount, but enough for me to see him..he was laying on top of another girl, kissing her roughly. I pushed the door open aggressively as tears streamed down my face, "Seriously?" They both shot up and looked at me with shocked expressions.
"Shit, Iris..I can explain!" Wren got up, throwing on a pair of boxers, I turned around and rushed out of the apartment. I felt him grab onto my arm as I entered the apartment hallway, "Iris, please, stay, let me talk." I turned around and pulled my arm away from his tight grip, "Three years, down the drain." I spat, hurrying out of the hallway and into the elevator, he stood at the doors, "Please Iris." he watched as the doors closed, I felt myself let out a breathe, as if I hadn't been breathing this whole time.

I picked up my phone and called Cassie.
"Iris! Are you considering coming back out?!" Cassie shouted into my ear as she picked up the phone, "Yeah, you're still there right?" I held back my sadness, I didn't want to talk about it, I wanted to forget it. "I am. I just met some girl, i'm making my way over to her group now, hurry up and get here!" She shouted and hung up the phone. I pulled out my camera and looked at myself, wiping a smudge of makeup off from under my eye. Not looking too bad for someone who just caught her boyfriend cheating.

I texted Cassie as I walked into the club, after giving the bouncer my name. I began walking towards where she told me to go, I then saw her wave me down past the crowd full of people. I hurried to get to her and she stood before a vip booth,
"Who are these people..?" I spoke loudly to her ear, hoping she could hear me. "I met Katrina at the bar, these are her friends..come on, you gotta meet everyone." She pulled my arm and we walked to the booth, I looked at the group of people, a boy sat with a blue haired girl, they both laughed together, beside them was another couple, a black haired girl and a black and silver haired guy, they leaned in for a kiss, and then my eyes met a man's, he pulled a drink up to his lips, taking a sip as his eyes continued to stare deeply into mine. "Everyone! This is my friend Iris!" Cassie shouted over the music, my eyes still laid on the mysterious man, he shot me a grin and I looked away, "Hi Iris! Im Kat! This is Sam!" The blue haired girl introduced herself and her boyfriend, "And that's tara and Jake! And then there's Colby, and Brennen is around here somewhere." Kat smiled widely, "Nice to meet you.." I smiled softly.
"Come on, sit.." Cassie motioned for me to get into the booth and I did, landing myself right next to the mysterious guy..
"Im going to get us shots!" Cassie left the booth now, leaving me alone to stare at the crowds of people dancing and standing at the bar, I began to think about what happened before I got here..until I felt a tap on my arm, "Colby nice to meet you.." The guy stared into my soul with his light eyes..I couldn't tell the colour because of the lights in the club..but i'm sure they were blue. "Iris.."
"What're you doing here on a Thursday?" Colby asked me, I swallowed harshly and shrugged,
"Cassie likes to pull my leg and have me come get drunk.."
"Not a big club person?" He questioned me, I shook my head, "Are you?"
"Well that depends.." He grinned, taking another sip of his drink, I watched him carefully, he had really nice hands..like super nice hands..god..he was even wearing really nice rings..We sat there for a moment, I was unsure what to say, I hadn't hit on someone in a long time..it was weird, looking at someone else like this, but all I wanted to do was forget what happened and I'm sure colby could be a great distraction.
"Do you dance..?" I randomly asked, his eyes met mine again and he smirked, "Are you asking because you want to dance with me?" I shrugged, "Maybe."
"Let's go.." He nudged my elbow and I got out of the booth slowly, I felt his hand reach for mine and he took the lead, pulling me to the dance floor, he was so fucking attractive, he was wearing black ripped jeans with a white and black striped shirt..Wren was nothing close to this attractive..I felt my heart beat grow faster as he pulled me into his chest.
I let the music fill my ears as I slowly danced to the beat, Colby joining me, I turned around and began sliding against him, his hands reached my waist, grabbing onto it tightly, I turned back to him, his hands still feeling my body, our eyes locked, then I thought about Wren again, wondering what he was doing now, still fucking that girl or did she leave..does he feel regret? I grasped back into reality, looking Colby's eyes still, I impulsively leaned in, crashing my lips onto his roughly, Colby kissed me back harder, his hand reaching down to my ass and grabbing it hard. Someone then bumped into me harshly, causing me to lean more into Colby, his arms wrapped around me protectively, I looked up at him with a nervous smile and he smiled back.
"Let's go get some drinks.." He reached for my arm, holding me tightly, as we walked to the bar, moving into the crowd to get some service.
"What do you like..?" Colby asked me, "Tequila." I grinned, "You've got good taste.." He winked, god this guy was breathe taking..it was mesmerizing. After some more small talk and finally getting our shots, Colby leaned into my ear,
"Do you want to ditch this place?"
"And go where..?" I mumbled back,
"My place." I nodded, causing Colby to grab my arm and pull me into the crowd, rushing out of the club.

We jumped into a taxi and Colby told the driver his address, I pulled out my phone and began texting Cassie to apologize for disappearing again.
was I making an irrational decision?

me: cassie, Wren called, had to head home. Sorry babe. i hope you have a good time..i love you.

cassie<3: all good, i met brennen, and wow, gtg text me when you're home safe!

just then texts from Wren came flooding in,

Wren💛: Iris, please, it was a mistake.

Wren💛: Pick up the fucking phone

Wren💛: you're such a fucking bitch, pick up the phone please, I love you, please.

Wren💛: you're my everything please Iris, pick up the fucking phone, please, im begging you. She's gone..she meant nothing to me please.

Wren💛: where are you..FUCK IRIS PICK UP THE FUCKING PHONE. STOP BEING A CUNT.

"Hey, everything okay..?" Colby's voice made me look up from my phone, I shut it off, throwing it back into my purse. "More than okay." I smirked, pulling him towards me, my lips colliding with his again, he kissed back with passion, and it was amazing, he began kissing down my neck, making my eyes roll to the back of my head, I ran my fingers through his hair, excited for us to get into a bed.
The taxi man cleared his throat causing Colby to pull away from me, he handed him some money and Colby got out of the taxi, making his way to my side, he opened the door for me and helped me out of the taxi.
This wasn't too irrational wasn't it?
No. After being with a man like Wren for three years..this wasn't even close to irrational.

"Coming inside or what?" Colby grinned at me as he stood at the open door, I nodded, making my way to him quickly.
