Chapter twenty two

I woke up in Colby's embrace and I felt myself smile immediately, shutting my eyes again to allow myself to feel safe in his arms. Cuddling him like this made butterflies fly in my stomach, it almost made me nauseous but in a good way. I opened my eyes again and Colby's were staring down at me, he smiled lightly, "Sorry.." I smiled back, shutting my eyes with a small chuckle, "It's okay." Colby slowly let go of me and I felt myself get disappointed with his action.
"So..a bit of exploring today?" I raised an eyebrow, he nodded, "More than a little. But for now, let's just enjoy my bed a bit more.." He gave me a cheeky look and I nodded, "Good idea." I shut my eyes tightly and tried to enjoy the silence but I just couldn't. I opened them again and moved myself to lay on my stomach, holding my head up with my hand I stared at Colby in awe. "Can't sit in silence?" He mumbled without opening his eyes, I let my head fall and sighed, "sorryyy I just like talking to ya." I mumbled, he opened his eyes and he grinned at me, turning his body towards me. "If you're going to be like this every morning i'm going to have to make you sleep on the couch.." my jaw dropped with offense,
"Wow you are grumpy in the morning. Want me to go make us some coffee?" I sat up with a smile, Colby rolled his eyes, his arm reaching out to my arm, pulling me into him, his hand making itself to my hair petting it softly, "You really don't know how to just enjoy quiet company do you?" He mumbled.
I decided not to answer, but then I pulled from his embrace again, "Okay my friends don't touch me like that.." I faked a laugh, getting up from his bed, he groaned and turned himself into his pillow, I stepped towards the bedroom door and laughed, making my way out to get some coffee.

As I made my way downstairs I heard some of the roommates chatting altogether, maybe it's weird for me to just walk down by myself in Colby's clothes after spending the night, but I didn't really care..
"Oh hey you!" Kat smiled at me once I stepped into the kitchen, "Have fun last night Miss I?" Corey smirked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"Just making some coffee for bedhead upstairs and myself..anyone wanna help?"
"I'll make it for you, just sit.." Sam insisted and I sat myself at the island, looking over at Corey who was sipping on his own mug, he shot me a grin and I smiled, "Colby's up? that's very surprising, he usually only gets out of bed at like three.." Kat laughed, "What time is it now?" I asked,
"It's ten." Sam placed two mugs in front of me.
"thanks so much Sammy.."
"So..how's stuff..?" Kat gave me a certain look, but before I could respond Corey took the lead,
"she wants to know if you and Colby boned it out last night, after him having that girl here and all.." Corey laughed, everyone glanced at him unimpressed and his eyes widened, "Sorry sorry. Does she not know?"
"I do..aha, but it's personal, Colby and I are just friends..I think that's best for the both of us, he's a great guy, but I have a lot going on right now, it's better he doesn't get in the mix of it." Sam nodded,
"I think that's mature coming from Colby. Anyways..don't worry about it, we won't meddle in your business.."
"Maybe not you. I definitely will, So Iris-"
"Corey shut up.." Kat cut him off and he rolled his eyes. She patted my hand and I smiled at her, grateful of our friendship.

"God what's all this gossip.." Colby's voice caught us all off guard, we all glanced towards him at the entrance of the kitchen, he was rubbing his eyes, his hair all messed up, and his sweater inside out.
"No gossip. Iris made you a coffee, drink it, you look like you need it.." Sam sipped his own as he leaned against the counter, Colby's eyes met mine and he rolled them, making his way over next to me.
He took one of the cups in front of me and began to sip it. "Late night huh?" Corey mumbled to Colby, Colby nodded, "And this one won't let me go back to sleep.." I rolled my eyes nudging him with my elbow, "Not today. I'm on borrowed time here. Anyways Colby and I thought we could go out and explore somewhere, he said he had some place in mind for us.." I looked towards Sam and Kat and they nodded.
"As long as there's no crazy bat shit story behind it, count me in!" Kat smiled.
"Which were you thinking?" Sam asked,
"The one with the super cool thing there.." Colby said briefly, "Oh yeah I know exactly what you're talking about the one with the cool..god Colby be more descriptive please." Sam laughed, Colby groaned, "The old waterslide place."
"Oh i'm so down!" Sam grinned, "Sounds cool.." I smiled, Kat nodded too, "Why can't I come?" Corey whined to us, "Because you have that video to do remember?" Sam told him, he nodded, "oh yeahhh."
"Let's go get ready Katrina.." Sam slapped her butt lightly and she giggled as they both made their way upstairs. Colby then began making his way upstairs too, I sighed and began to follow him.

As he stepped into his room he fell face first into bed, and I joined in too.
"I'm sorry if I made your morning bad, I was just very excited to be here and not as nervous as usual.."
"It's okay Izzy. I'm just not a morning person..that's all, honestly i'm not used to you being up this early either.." He shot me a glance and I grinned,
"I'm not a morning person Colbs, like I said, I was just excited to be here..I dunno. Anyways, we can lay here in silence for a moment if you'd still like that?" I shut my eyes, I then felt Colby's arm pull me into him and I allowed him to do so.
"I wish you weren't on borrowed time..so we could do what we want, when we want." He mumbled.
"I'm sorry.." I apologized, still unsure what to do with my horrible boyfriend who awaited for me angry at home constantly, and who would harass me once he realized he didn't have me there to nag on to come home..When all I wanted was to be far far away from him, somewhere safe, like here...Colby's grip on me tightened and I felt myself feel more warm in his embrace..god I could stay here forever..
