Criticism spot! :)

Crutchie's POV

I woke up in Jack's arms, a smile on my face. My phone went off and ruined it, though, and I grabbed it to see who had texted me.

iMessage from Dad
10:14 am I'll be home at 11 tonight. The house better be spotless.

Jack had woken up from my phone going off, seeing the message. I sighed and pushed my hair back, already stressed. He started to play with my hair a little, making me start smiling once again.

"You never told me how dinner went," I said, and he looked away from me for a moment.

"I walked out when we were halfway through," he began, rubbing his eyes. "He started being an ass and I didn't wanna be there anymore."

"What did he say?" I asked, studying him closely.

"Just stupid stuff, like always." I decided to drop it at that, not wanting to make him upset. "So you have to go home already?"

"Mhm, I've gotta get the entire house cleaned." I sat up and stretched, Jack following.

"Let me help," he offered, smiling some more.

"You want to help me clean my house?" I asked, and he nodded. "I don't get you sometimes," I teased, and he laughed.

"C'mon, let's get to work!"

We went right to my house minutes later, the feeling of dread overcoming me as we walked in. I sighed and went right to the kitchen, as I just wanted to get it over with. Jack followed me, leaning against the island.

"So, what first?" He asked, somehow still smiling.

"Well, I usually start with scrubbing basically every surface in the kitchen, including the floor. Oh, yeah, he refuses to buy brooms or mops or anything, so I just scrub the floor." He nodded, and I grabbed everything out of the cupboard below the sink. I wanted to get to work on the floor, so I set my crutch against the counter, grabbing Jack's attention.

"Hold on, I'm not letting you clean the floor," he cut me off, already knowing what I was going to do.

"I always do," I mumbled, a little confused.

"I'm not letting you, not with your leg," he quickly added, and I couldn't help but feel loved.

"You really want to scrub the floors?" He nodded, already filling the bucket with water. "I know I already said this, but I really, really don't understand you sometimes," he chuckled just as he did before, making me blush.

It took us the rest of the morning and a little into the afternoon to finish the downstairs, thankfully only having two rooms upstairs to clean, since my Dad didn't care about my room. We went into the upstairs bathroom and started cleaning, not having to do that much since I already liked to keep it pretty spotless. I couldn't stop smiling the entire day, enjoying Jack's company.

Jack's POV

Once we finished the bathroom we moved onto the final room, his Dad's. It was honestly far more clean than I expected it to be, and we got started right away. Crutchie folded his clothes while I wiped down the desk, cleaning all the random knick-knacks he had. As I did, I picked up a picture frame, a family photo resting inside. My heart sank as I looked at it, seeing that his Dad had scratched Crutchie's face out of it so it was only the two of them, as though Crutchie didn't even exist. I set it back down before Crutchie could notice me looking at it, not wanting him to see it. After we were finally done we laid on Crutchie's bed, and he was clearly exhausted.
