Crutchie's POV

I felt sick to my stomach when I woke up the next morning, dreading having to go to school as I always did. Not to mention, I hadn't slept well, my brain playing the impact of the crash over and over. Thankfully, though, I never woke up dramatically enough to wake Jack up too, meaning he was able to sleep through the night. I sat with my legs hanging over the bed as Jack got my medicine, wishing I could go back to sleep. When he returned, he was smiling, already helping me feel better.

"Can I ask for a favor?" I said, feeling like a burden.

"Of course," he set two of my pills in my hand, continuing to smile.

"Can I wear one of your sweatshirts today?" I asked, grabbing my water from the nightstand.

"Sure, is there a specific one you want?" I shook my head before taking my medicine quick, rubbing my tired eyes as he grabbed me one.

I slipped whatever one he had picked for me on, feeling as though I was being hugged by him. He could tell I wasn't doing well today with memories, so he very sweetly started the car before I went downstairs, playing music and being sure to talk to me as we drove to school. We sat alone for a bit before Race showed up, nearly sprinting over to us.

"So?!" He asked, unable to contain himself.

"I'm performing," I couldn't stop myself from smiling big, also chuckling at Race's reaction.

"Hell yes! You know damn well I'll be there," he said as he sat down, nearly throwing his backpack to the floor from how excited he was for me. "Oh, not to change the subject, but Jack, can you share that slideshow with me?"

"Shit yeah, sorry," Jack quickly drew his phone out, leaving me confused. Race caught on, looking at me with a smile.

"Jack, Davey, and I are doing a group project for a class we have together," he explained, jealousy hitting me like a train. "Davey and I are going to Facetime tonight to work on it, will you be there, Jack?"

"Yeah, I will. Trust me, even though I hate projects, I like you guys, so this is my top priority," he joked, making Race chuckle. I, of course, only grew more jealous, being sure to fake laugh so they didn't catch on.

I basically tuned out the rest of the conversations that entire morning, feeling even worse once Davey showed up. Jack kept looking at me every now and then to see if I was alright, likely assuming my quietness was due to something else.

Thankfully we just watched a video in biology, giving me time to decompress and calm down.  To my surprise, I was completely ignored, no one giving me any notes or saying things to me at all. While sitting with Race at lunch I could feel his eyes on me, staying quiet for a moment.

"Is everything alright?" He asked, looking me up and down.

"Mhm, I'm just really tired," I answered, focusing on my book.

"Are you sure?" He pryed, concern present in his voice.

"Yeah," was all I said this time, knowing I couldn't confide in him about my jealousy towards Davey. I was sure to answer with a bit of a cold tone, making him drop it at that. Of course, I knew he'd say something about it to Jack, but I could easily pretend my foot was bugging me.

Race didn't try to get me to talk any further about it, completely dropping it for the rest of the day. I was getting my stuff from my locker while Race stood beside me when our two favorite people approached, smiles on their faces.
