Criticism spot! :)

Crutchie's POV

We spent the weekend relaxing and spending time together, helping me to feel better. I couldn't help but notice how much happier I was when we weren't in school, which made me look forward to graduating even more than I already was. This week had been going awful for me, though, as nearly everyone in the school was being way harsher than they usually were. They weren't being too physical, thankfully, only doing the usual shoving and things like that. It was the insults that were worse, weighing me down like a ton of bricks.

Jack was trying to stay by me as much as he could, knowing that people would generally leave me alone if he was there. Of course, it wasn't possible for him to be there at all times, and I felt sick to my stomach every time he had to go. As we sat in biology, I started to feel like I could breathe, as everyone was paying attention to Mr. Weisel for once. That was, until Mr. Weisel had to leave the room and get some worksheets from the teacher's lounge, immediately making me tense up. Everyone started talking to one another, Jack and I just texting since we didn't sit anywhere near one another.

09:28 am Holy shit, if this doesn't get more interesting I might die
09:28 am Did he say if this was a partner worksheet or not

09:28 am I wish I had an answer for you but I truly wasn't listening to a word he was saying

I saw Jack chuckle a little at my text, making me smile. Weisel then returned, the class going pretty quiet as he set the papers down at the front of the room.

"Okay, you can do this worksheet with other people, just come up and get it. It's due at the beginning of class tomorrow." He sat back down at his desk, no longer paying attention to us.

Jack went up with a few other people and grabbed us each a sheet, pulling up a chair to my desk. He smiled at me as he sat down, instantly making my day a million times better.

"I don't wanna do this," he whined, jokingly rolling his eyes.

"Me either, I don't feel like it," I rested my head in my left hand, sighing.

"We could always just do it at my house," he suggested, a smile still on his face.

"Let's do that, I'm too lazy to finish it now." I noticed a few kids from behind Jack looking at me while laughing, ruining my mood. I made sure not to make it obvious, though, as I didn't want Jack to notice.

It became apparent that they were looking at my leg, laughing at how I was resting it. There was nothing I could do about it, though, as while I was able to feel pain in my leg, I couldn't move it. I felt as though I could break down at any moment, the insults that people had been saying to me all week becoming too much to take. Despite this, I didn't want Jack to worry or anything, so I focused on our conversation, trying as hard as I could to ignore the feeling.

As I got my stuff from my locker at lunchtime, Jack stopped by, just like he did every day. We struck up a normal conversation, but as it continued, I could tell he was catching on to how I was actually feeling.

"Is everything okay?" He finally asked, my heart dropping.

"Yeah, sorry," I tried, hoping he'd drop it.

"Are you sure..?" He pushed, speaking quietly now.

"Mhm, I'm just sorta tired. My medicine can make me drowsy sometimes," I knew this would work, as he never questioned my medication or its side effects since I obviously knew more about it than him.

"Oh, didn't know that, sorry. Mine does that too," he said, confusing me just a little, as I had no idea he took any medication. I didn't ask about it, though, not wanting to keep him from his friends any longer.
