I Think We Accidentally Got Married (EDITING)

Chapter 7

The same day that Oliver arrived from Vegas is also the same day that he did a press conference.

"Good afternoon everyone. It is very unfortunate that we have to meet under this circumstances. I believe everyone has seen the news on TV and has read all the posts online regarding me and Macy Snider. I would like to make this announcement once and for all, yes we are legally married. And just like everyone else, our relationship is our business. It is not for everyone to pry on. I wish our relationship to remain private and I would appreciate for everyone to respect that. I will not be answering any questions and I don't want anyone bothering my wife. Thank you everyone for your time. Goodnight."

Reporters and paparazzis tried to ask questions but Oliver was already gone. Some of the reporters were obviously frustrated as the statement was very vague and they still wanted more clarifications.

Oliver's legal team managed to get rid of some of the unpleasant posts about the incident on social media.

It has been almost1 week since he last saw Macy. He was hoping that he would contact her but there was nothing. He thought Macy would storm at her building after he did the pressconference but she has gone silence ever since. Even her parents didn't comment.

It was a Friday morning when Oliver was finishing up his work when the phone rang.

Oliver: yes, John?

John: sir, I have Mr. Snider's secretary on the line wanting to speak to you.

Oliver smirked. It took them a week to reach out. Oliver was obviously on the winning side after he did the pressconference.

He told John to transfer the call.

Snider's secretary: hello? My name is Marcus. I'm Mr. Snider's secretary. He would like to talk to you in person.

Oliver pinch the bridge of his nose...

Oliver: when does he want?

Snider's secretary: as soon as possible.

Oliver: I am free over the weekend. You can relay the details to my secretary.

Oliver hang up.

Reagan Snider is a tough competitor. He took his time contacting Oliver even if it concerns with his daughter.

Macy's POV

After Vegas, I went straight home. I have faced my father multiple times but he has not asked any question nor talked to me.

My mom scolded me at first but after a few days she had stopped mentioning incident.

I am so bored as I had extended my leave from work due to the incident. I contacted the hospital director and he did not hesitate to approve my extra day of work leave. Maybe because dad is one of the benefactors of the hospital or maybe because they owe me so much. After all, I am on call anytime they need me. Even if I'm on days off. But I honestly don't know how to face everyone if ever I went back to work. I don't know how to explain why I had to withhold my identity. Though, I didn't really withhold any information, I only used my mother's maiden family name. It's legal.

Macy: what press conference?

Gracie girl❤: you need to start watching TV or signing up on twitter or FB!

I opened my youtube app and typed Oliver's name. There was many hits with his name the search bar. I clicked the most recent video and there he was speaking as if he has known me for a long time. How dare him telling the entire country that we are legally married?! How dare him!!!!

I was so frustrated and angry! I was about to call this evil person but I realized that I didn't have his number.  Argh! For f*ck sake!

I googled his name and I was directed to his company's website. I opened the website and went to the part where it says contact us. There was a 1 300 number.

I called the number and it only rang three times then a pre recorded voice started talking about what Crowne Inc does, how they were helping people etc etc... The pre recorded finally finished after 3 minutes and a bit. It started ringing again...

Operator: Crowne Inc. Could you pls hold on the line.

Bloody hell! How long am I going to be on hold!??!! I sighed.

Operator: I'm sorry to keep you waiting. How can I help?

Macy: errhmm... Can you pls forward my call, I need to talk to Oliver.

Operator: I'm sorry ma'am but you will have to book an appointment. However, if this is for an interview, our CEO is currently not accepting any kinds of interview.

Macy: could you please tell him that it's important. Tell him that it's his wife.

The operator got quiet for a while...

Operator: errm Mrs. Crowne apologies for the hold, stay on the line, I will forward your call to Mr. Crowne now.

The phone was ringing and I was getting nervous and impatient. I was tapping my feet on the floor. It's wierd how he is still at work on a weekend. He must really love his company.

I heard a click on the other end.

Oliver: why, hello Mrs. Crowne.

Macy:  I'd like to talk to you urgently.

Oliver: (sighed) you haven't contacted me since you left. What made you change your mind?

Macy: could we talk like normal adults?

Oliver: you were the one that left, so you have to be the one to come and talk to me.

I sighed. He was correct that's a given. I did runaway but he was more sober than I was. He should have stopped the wedding not play along with it.

Oliver: babe? Are you still there.

Macy: please call me Macy. And I'm not your babe or anyone's babe.

Oliver: so have you decided when would you like to talk to me urgently??

Macy: give me your mobile.

Oliver: why, of course Mrs. Crowne. As long as you give me yours.

After we exchanged numbers he asked me if there was anything I wanted to say. He told me that he was a very busy man. That bastard! His time will come.

Oliver's POV

I was surprised when straight after I had a meeting with Reagan Snider, Macy contacted me straight away. And she even called the 1 300 number.

I can see myself winning at this point.

During my meeting with Reagan Snider earlier, he asked me of my true feelings and purpose for marrying her daughter. I suppose she has not told him about what happened in Vegas. Of course, I have managed to convince him that I have been admiring his daughter from a far.

And as excpected, it appears that Mr. Snider was also not considering divorce since it will affect his company hard. But the one thing I was surprised was when he mentioned that I should not deny Macy if she still wished to work at the hospital.

I googled the hospital and found out that my wife is actually a neurosurgeon. And the reason why I couldn't find her anywhere is because she has been using her mother's maiden family name. Why haven't I thought about that? She is infact Dr. Macy Sans.

When I googled Macy Sans. I got a lot of hits. It was all about her work volunteering and providing free services to people who can't afford to pay for surgery. She is impressive! But still, I can't deny the fact that she still acts like a spoiled brat. She didn't even say please when she asked me to see her.

But for now, I will concentrate on my master plan. I will make her fall in love. Soon enough she will be under my spell. And when she will finally fall in love, I will slowly infiltrate Snider shipping and it will eventually become mine.

I have been waiting for this moment to finally have the cards to bring Snider Shipping down.
