Oliver's POV
Since our last arguement, Macy has been impossible to reach. She decided to go back to work and cut her work holiday short. Who was I to stop her?
She works 12 hour shifts for at least 4 days a week with on call duties in between. She is still asleep when I leave home and she is not home when I'm home.
She must have really hated me so much after what happened. She even chose weekdays off just so she won't see me.
I couldn't move on from what had happened last time specially that until now, I still don't know what I did so wrong. It's been f*cking my head.
And I have another problem, I was invited to a social event. And obviously, I can't turn up alone. I honestly don't know what to do!!!
I'm suppose to be working but I haven't got anything done all day. That's why I have decided to work until late. There's tons of paperworks that needs reading and I don't really want to go home to an empty house.
I am so used to Macy's presence that I feel like my life is f*cked when she's not around.
It's 11:30PM I'm still at the office and still nothing is getting done.
I gave up and decided to just go home.
Macy's POV
After what happened last time. I don't know how to face Oliver. I wasn't really ready to tell him why I freaked out and got angry.
So to avoid him, I called the hospital and told them that I'd like to go back to work. My direct manager couldn't decide so I decided to contact the medical director directly which she happily agreed.
My life has been back to having 3-4 hours of maximum sleep. I have been working 12 hours 4-5 days a week. Even tonight, after my full shift, I offered to stay back for 2 more hours. Yes. I'm probably crazy but I'm really not ready to talk to Oliver.
The hospital has been the same since the last time I was working here aside from a few new staff. And I was getting lesser numbers of procedure because they have hired 2 more surgeons.
It was about time for me to go. 10 minutes to midnight. Oliver is probably already sleeping by the time I get home which I prefer.
I drove home and slowly opened the door so I didn't wake him up. To my surprise, he was still awake.
"Hi baby." He greeted me. He was going to get up but he stopped and changed his mind.
"Hi back." I answered. I went to the laundry straight away. That has always been my routine. Run to the laundry undress then take a shower. I always liked to wash my scrubs every after shift for hygiene purposes.
I stripped my scrubs off without realizing that Oliver actually followed me. I was now only wearing my bra and my underwear. Thank god I wore my boylegs today. I turned around and I found Oliver leaning on the door frame of the laundry room.
"Well? Can I help you with anything, Oliver?" I was not angry but I was mostly nervous.
"Calm your farm. I'm just here to give you a towel so you won't get cold."
He handed me the towel then he left. I wrapped myself with the towel then I went to the bathroom and showered. I slightly felt a pang of guilt with the way I acted at him.
I quickly changed into my pajamas. The bed was still empty so Oliver was still outside. I went out of the room and I saw Oliver sitting on one of the bar stools in his minibar looking at his phone.
"I'm making cofee. Do you want one?" I asked.
"Sure. I'll have decaf americano." He answered.
