I Think We Accidentally Got Married (EDITING)

Chapter 10

Oliver was feeling annoyed while he was on the phone with one of the supervisors. One of the petroleum tankers was stuck somewhere in the Atlantic. Apparently, customs did not allow the tanker to cross due to a missing documentation. This is the first time that this has happened. Usually, before a tanker leave a port, every paperwork is all ready to prevent things like this to happen. With one of his tankers stuck, he is losing money. So he called the general manager and told him that if he could not find a fix to this problem, then he would find someone else to do his job. The general manager apologized.

Oliver ended the call then he heard a message notification. He pinched his forehead as he picked up the phone to check who texted him.

He smiled when he saw the message.

Aaaaaawife: I'm 3 minutes away. But I will only be able to park at the front of your building and it's only usually 15mins parking.

He didn't bother replying but instead he stood up from his chair and went to John's desk.

"John, could you give me 1 of the visitor's parking sticker."

Without any questions, John pulled the second drawer on the right side of his table and gave Oliver what he requested.

"There you go sir." John told Oliver while handing him the parking sticker.

"Thank you John. You can have the rest of the afternoon off. I am done working for the day. And if there's any problem, try and fix it first before coming to me. And also, make sure to chase the general manager for the tanker that got stuck in the Atlantic. I want it fixed within 24 hours." Oliver commanded.

"No problem sir." John replied.

"Also, I don't want to be disturbed the rest of the day especially if it is not a matter life and death." Oliver added.

"Understood, sir." John answered then Oliver was gone.

John Betts has been working for Oliver for almost 5 years. He started as a front desk receptionist. When Oliver was taking over the CEO position, he didn't want to hire new people. So when he posted the executive secretary job, it was only for the people who was already employed in the company. When John applied, he was still doing his degree with business and ICT. Oliver was impressed with his background that due to him being desperate to have an assistant, he hired John temporarily.

It was difficult at first but it only took John 1 month to get familiar with Oliver's routine. He was a very efficient secretary. He does whatever Oliver tells him even after working hours. John was employed temporarily for a short time. After 3 months, Oliver offered him the job permanently which John happily accepted. And the rest is history.

The best thing about having John is, he can work independently and Oliver has always entrusted him to act on his behalf if he is not physically available.

Oliver's POV

After receiving Macy's text, I quickly went to John's desk and asked him for the visitor's parking sticker.

I don't know what's the matter with me when I have had so many interesting women that visited my office before. Some even are my flings. Not that Macy is not interesting but she is different. She doesn't throw herself at me unlike the women I've dated. Her body is athletic I give her that but my preference would be those model types. But then again, this is only temporary. I need her because she has something that I want.

I impatiently waited for the elevator to reach the ground floor. Then I heard the ding. The elevator opened and I quickly scanned my ID so I could get out of the building. My building is automated. All employees has to scan their identification before they could get in and out.
