Macy's POV
Oliver and I has been really having good progress these last few days. We even have started telling jokes at each other.
He hasn't mentioned or asked me about the shower incident so far. And I'm happy because I'm not really keen on talking about it yet. I just want to enjoy whatever we currently have.
I'm getting ready for work when Oliver suddenly hugged from behind. "Baby, can I drive you to work today?" Oliver offered.
And without hesitation, I said yes. It's the weekend so he would be at home doing his workout then cleaning the apartment. Since I moved in with him, I taught him to learn things like cleaning his own place and doing his own laundry instead of calling someone every weekend. I didn't think that he would actually do it but he has done it 3 weekends in a row now. I'm proud of him.
We were about to reach the hospital when he told me that we needed to attend a gala party. I told him that I would think about it but really, he can't turn up alone. Because if he did, it would be chaos waiting to happened.
The gala would be in 2 weeks time so I had plenty of time to find a dress and get ready.
My day at work went the same. I mostly do consultations now instead of doing actual surgeries. I swear I think my dad or Oliver has something to do with it. It feels like the hospital is intentionally giving me lighter workload than last time. I feel useless. Even on call duties has become lesser and lesser. I'm not complaining though. Who doesn't like to get extra sleep?
My phone vibrated.
O'Crowne: Baby, meet me at the cafeteria. Let's eat lunch together..
I smiled reading at his message. I told the nurse at the station that I was going to go for my lunch break.
I walked quickly to the cafeteria. When I arrived, there was people already lined up. I looked around to find Oliver. I saw him waiving at me then I walked towards him. He kissed me on my lips.
"Hi baby." He smiled at me.
I smiled back at him then he pulled the chair out for me to sit.
I was about to ask him what he wanted to eat so I could fall in line and order when he placed a bag on the table.
He ordered Japanese! And he ordered the same food that I ordered last time. I was pleased.
"How's your shift so far?" He asked.
"Hmmm... it's the same as usual but they have been giving me lesser and lesser job. All I do is consults all day. I swear I'm feeling sick looking at other people's brain photos." I told him and he laughed at my banter.
We both enjoyed the lunch. Unfortunately, I had to go back to work.
Oliver's POV
I am going to surprise Macy for a lunch date at the hospital today. I'm going to order her favourite Japanese takeaway. I'm hoping that she won't refuse.
It was quarter past 12 when I finished my house chores then I left home. When I arrived at the hospital, it was hard to quickly find a parking spot. Once I found one, I quickly parked and did not waste time. I quickly walked towards the cafeteria. I looked for a vacant table first before I texted Macy telling her that I was there to eat lunch with her. She actually didn't reply to my text message but I waited anyway.
It felt like I was waiting for long then I saw Macy entering the cafeteria while looking around. She was as usual wearing her scrubs with her eyeglasses on. She also had her stethoscope around her neck. She didn't see me straight away so I stood up and waived at her.
