13. Under Pressure

Tara's POV

I felt numb and fuzzy. I tried to move but I found that I couldn't. There was something heavy on top of me. Panic started to set in as I realised I was in bed with a stranger. I slowly opened my left eye squinting around the room, realising i wasn't at home before opening my right and glancing down at the sleeping body. I instantly recognised him as Theo and the panic I was feeling vanished. I was still confused. Why was I in this room with Theo? Then it all came flooding back.

How great yesterday had been when we were outside having fun. How he carried me home asleep. How I woke up after he left me, feeling cold and lonely. How I'd gone to find him, only to hear him telling people from his pack that I was there soon to be Alpha Female and then I passed out. That was all I could remember so I'm guessing Theo must have brought me back upstairs only he'd stayed with me this time. It made me happy to know he'd held me while I slept and that even know his arms were gripping me tightly. But then I felt a surge in my body and I realised it as anger pulsing through me. Anger that we hadn't even figured everything out yet and he'd told his pack who I was. Anger that he assumed I'd leave my pack for his.

Slowly and carefully I moved my left hand from under his body and brought it over him before proceeding to smack him round the head with a thud. As soon as my hand connected with his head, he leaped up into position ready to attack. His eyes darted around the room before settling on me where his expression and his stance softened. The grim line that his lips had set into curled up into a small smile.

"Tara. I thought something was happening. Are you ok?"

I glared back at him with all the hatred I could muster. He must've noticed because the smile soon slipped from his face and was replaced by a confused frown that made him look quite cute. No. Not cute. Bad Tara. You're supposed to be angry!

"Am I ok? Well let's see. Yesterday I came to find you and saw you tell members of your pack that I was there soon to be Alpha Female and then I passed out. What do you think?"

"Tara I.."

"Don't bother Theo! I don't want to hear it! How dare you tell anyone that! We're not even together properly yet how dare you even think that I would leave my pack for yours! You don't even care about me. You just care about the good of the pack and making sure it's strong!" He stood there in shock, so i rose from the bed and started gathering my things. As I sat back down to pull on my socks I could hear him approaching me and I silently begged him not to touch me.

"Tara it's not like that. I. It's just. They're my most trustworthy and closest members! They ha a right to know. I couldn't keep it from them forever. Of course I care about you but as Alpha I do have to think of the pack too. I thought you understood what it was like to be Alpha. Your dad used to be one."

"Nothing good comes from informing the pack of facts you are still unsure about?"

"You're my mate and you will be there Alpha Female, so what is there to be unsure about?"

I coudn't believe what i was hearing. Was he trying to make my decisions for me? I don't think so.

"What if i don't want to be Alpha. What if i want a normal life without the chaos. I don't know if i'm ready to accept you fully yet but you've already gone and told them who i am. It makes me feel like i've been tied to the job without an option. It's like you're already trying to pressure me into the Alpha title that comes with you but that i don't want!"

"Tara. I haven't told the full pack Just the trustworthy ones. They won't tell anyone else till i give them the go ahead. I am not trying to push you into anything. What do you think i am? A bully?"

I could sense the annoyance in his voice and i didn't like it.

"Well considering we haven't gotten off to the best start and we still don't know all that much about each other than how am i supposed to know you? I know you have secrets and i know you're keeping them from me. Just like i'm doing to you. "

"I'm not hiding anything.."

"DON'T YOU DARE LIE TO ME THEO! It's easily seen behind your eyes that you are keeping secrets from me. But you can keep them."

I felt slightly bad that i'd shouted at him but at the same time i was so angry and i couldn't help myself. I rose from the bed and marched to the door, only turning round as i was just about to leave. What i saw nearly made me doubt my decision to go. He was sat on the bed. his expression pure shock but his eyes were the worst. They held love, anger, sorrow and regret. Before i could act on what i'd seen i turned back and continued down the stairs, out the door and toward the woods. Once i reached the woods i broke into a run, transforming into my wolf in mid-stride.

So it's been a while since my last update, i know. I've had a lot going on but that's not important. Chapters will become regular again and i'm wondering if any of you would like to become editor?

Anyhow so Tara has stormed off, what's gunna happen next?
