Theo's POV
As I ran through the woods, dodging between trees, I could feel the adrenaline pulsing through my body. I must have been running at around 80mph. It's not my fastest but it is pretty fast considering the rough terrain and constant dodging and angles I was taking through the woods. But even at this speed, my heart beat remained steady. It was almost as though I was just going for a stroll in the park.
Tara's scent was getting stronger now and the sweetness was beginning to overwhelm me. The deliciousness of the vanilla, making my mouth start to water. I wasn't far from her house now, if I continued at this speed I'd be there in five minutes max.
An earsplitting howl, echoed around me. It was from one of my pack. They were hurt and in danger. My mind wanted me to keep going to Tara's house but my body and my wolf wouldn't let me. Although Tara is the most important thing in the world to my wolf, he would never risk the health and safety of his pack. As alpha it is my duty to put the pack before everything. So reluctantly, I turned and sped off in the direction of the howl. Raising my muzzle to the sky I let out a long, loud howl. It was a signal to the fighters and higher members of the pack to move their butts and come with me. As confirmation of there correspondence to my request, a serious of howls from all around me split through the atmosphere.
Only moment later I could feel the vibrations of their footsteps through the earth. A large number must have been coming and they were close to me. I slowed down ever so slightly, just to give my wolves a chance to catch up and once they were upon me, I bolted forwards again. We ran together as one. They were going their too speed and I was slightly behind them so as to not run off alone. We moved together as one formation. The coppery smell of fresh blood flooded my senses and I knew we were deffinatly close. As we burst through the undergrowth into a clearing, I was surprised with an unexpected site.
Before me, four members if my pack lay battered and bruised. Surrounding them were twelve rogue wolves. The rogues fur, was matted and clogged with mud. It was greasy and knotted, showing the obvious signs of a rogue. If that wasnt enough to go by, the awful scent that lingered with them was. Rogues always smelt like dirt. This was because they were under the packs and classed as outcasts by everyone in the wolf world. So to distinguish between rogue wolves and pack wolves, rogue wolves were giving a disgusting scent that made you instantly think of mud and dirt.
The rogues hadn't noticed us yet as they continued to move in on my pack members. Looks like it was time to play. Silently I crept behind the wolves and leapt over them, turning 180' in mid air, so that when I landed with a full thud, I was between the rogues and my pack members and I was able to face the rogues.
As soon as their eyes landed on me, they all took a hesitant step back, closing the gap between them and my fellow pack members. If only they knew what was in store for them. I used my pack mind link to communicate with those who had come.
'None dead. Rough them up but keep them breathing enough to fully interrogate them back at the pack house. Make sure they are all knocked out before we go.'
A chorus of 'yes Alpha' followed my order, before a sea of brown, black, reds and goldens leapt forward and into action. I watched for a moment but I knew we had seriously outnumbered the rogues and that they could take care of them easily. So with that thought I turned around to see what damage has been inflicted onto the four behind me.
On the floor, lay a golden male wolf whom I could tell was soaked in blood from the red stains on his fur. Beside him a woman who looked to be in her thirties cowered against a tree resting one hand on the wolves head. She was covered in gashes and her battered arms cradled a small golden male wolf to her chest who looked to be unharmed. On her other side was another female. Only this one looked to be around sixteen and she was clinging to the woman i guessed was her mother. She too was covered in gashes and cuts. The two women both had fire red hair that was scrunched and knotted all over their head. As I looked over them once more I caught a glimpse of something behind them.
