Y/n raised her hands over his chest, hovering. Could she really kill a man? From what she'd been told, he didn't sound too pleasant, but he probably had a family. A glance at his left hand indicated that he had a wife- a wife that would miss him if he died. "So, Y/n. Hurry up. Are you going to join us? Or will you let your parents die?"
"What will you do, Y/n?" Y/n gulped, and lowered her hands. She could feel her quirk activate, and just a few more moments and she'd cut this guys blood supply off for good. 'I don't want to be a killer! Please.... someone help...' She lowered her hands, and stopped a fraction of an inch before him. "Well?"
"Please... don't make me do this." Taking a deep breath, Y/n made her decision...
She activated her quirk.
His heart stopped.
Y/n had killed someone. It was almost... trivial, how easy it was to simply end his life.
Y/n didn't know who the man was, but there was no describing the pain she felt knowing that she was now a murderer.
She turned to Toga, cringing at the way she laughed. "Well done, Y/n!! But, I'm afraid, we haven't been quite truthful here. Dabi!"
She yelled, and Y/n's eyes widened. "No... No you can't! I DID WHAT YOU SAID!!" She screamed, lunging towards Toga. She shoved her to the floor, about to tighten her hands around Toga's throat when someone picked her up and dragged her backwards.
Y/n thrashed forwards, barely registering the tall villain that had a firm hold of her.
"Calm down, little hero. Just accept it." "Yeah! But keep your eyes open to watch!" Toga grinned sickeningly and walked over to Y/n's mother first, grasping her and holding her up by the hair.
Y/n's father did his best to grab Toga, but he was too weak in his malnourished state.
"STOP IT! STO-- MMPH!!" Y/n cried out, struggling as the tall villain covered her mouth to silence her.
She was helpless as the sick and psychotic villain raised her knife, taking great pleasure in slowly shoving it into Y/n's mother's skull.
She wouldn't forget the silent scream her mother yelled out, nor the bittersweet feeling as she mouthed 'I love you, Y/n' before sinking to the floor, gripped by the cold, calm embrace of death.
Y/n had never properly encountered death before. The closest she'd encountered was the death of her great-grandma, when she was only 11.
