After what felt like an eternity of sleep, Kai woke up and found himself in an empty room. He tried to sit up, but was still too groggy to really move and his neck hurt so much that we could barely stand it. Despite this, Kai managed to sit up right and look around. He quickly realized that he was in a hospital room, though one that wasn't in the best conditions. He then slowly made his way off the bed, trying his best to ignore the intense pain and stiffness he was feeling.

After managing to get on his feet, Kai left the room as quietly as possible. As he wandered through the halls, he couldn't help but notice how empty the building seemed. It felt less like a hospital and more like a place where they take animals when there isn't room at the actual hospital. After about ten minutes of exploring, he saw a room in the distance with the lights on. The mongoose quickly and quietly made his way to what could be his first clue as to what's going on.

He peered inside and saw a certain wolf chained up, muzzled, and unconscious.

"What the hell?" Kai said in disbelief. He looked around quickly and tried to make sure that there were no signs of anyone around. He opened the door as discreetly as he could. He went in and kneeled down in front of his canine companion. "Hey Legosi, wake up!" he said as he shook the sleeping wolf.

"Sorry little guy, but I'm afraid he'll still be out for a while."

Kai jumped in surprise. He turned around and saw a very large and very muscular panda sitting on a couch, smoking a cigar. The panda's face was hard and chiseled, something not common for his species at all. His face was white, he had small black ears and the black spots over his eyes were so big and pronounced that you couldn't see his actual eyes. There were also three scares over his left eye, which clearly came from a set of claws. His arms were huge and the muscles were clearly visible despite all the black fur. The bear was wearing a light green collared shirt, blue jeans, and heavy looking boots. The panda man also had this air about him that made Kai think he could have been in the military at some point in his life.

"Name's Gohin," the panda stated. "So, you just gonna stand there all day with that horrified look on your face or are you gonna sit?"

Kai gulped, by all accounts he really didn't have any choice but to do as this panda said. He was in a strange place, Legosi was still knocked out, and the only other animal with them was someone who could snap the mongoose like a twig if he had a mind too.

"A-Alright," the mongoose said hesitantly. He sat down in the chair across from the panda and tried to do everything he could to not show how intimated he was.

"So... is there anything we need to say or talk about?"

"Plenty," Gohin answered, "But first, you need to calm the hell down. You look like you're gonna have freaken heart attack."

Kai looked down, then back at Gohin. "Well, I'm in what I assume is an abandoned building with my friend who's all chained up and our kidnaper who could break me in half. So yea, sorry if I'm not in a relaxing kind of mood right now."

The panda smirked. "Guess I can't argue with ya there." Gohin put out his cigar, threw it in the trash, and then took a sip from the tea he had in front of him. "Alright, let's get down to business," the large omnivore said, picking up a pen and notebook, "What's your name smart-ass?"

Kai took a deep breath. "I'm Kai! I'm a mongoose and in my second year at Cherryton High, same as my friend there."

Gohin wrote something down in his notebook, then looked back at his guest. "Is that how you know him? You two are in the same classes?"

"No, not really," the mongoose answered. "We do have one class together, but it's early in the morning and we don't sit close together because of how we're arranged."
