The next morning the boys were faced with three problems:
1. Waking the girls up
2. Taking them shopping
3. Stopping Niall from eating all the pancakes
"I'll take Jasmine," Harry immediately volunteered. After his breakthrough with her last night, he felt encouraged and determined.
"Jennifer," Liam decided.
"Alicia," Louis shrugged.
"And that leaves me with Niall," Zayn said.
Harry went up the stairs and along the corridor to Jasi's room. Just in case, he knocked firmly on the door. Waiting for about five seconds, he knocked again and went in.
Before we go any further, let me tell you about the Scott girls.
Alicia was normally either bubbly or surly; but she was the worst morning person. Until she got food into her, she would either be grumpy and snappy, or depressed and unresponsive, or sometimes violent.
Jasmine was normally reserved and private but not very nice, kind of gloomy with the ability to fly into rages, but in the mornings she would be kind and sweet; until she got water and light.
And Jennifer was usually snappy and sarcastic, but she would be happy and bubbly and jokey, until she was fully ready for the day.
"Wake up, Jasi," Harry said softly. He opened the blinds slightly, and shook the girl's arm. He was careful, ready to grab her at any time just in case she flew into a rage. "Jasmine," Harry said a bit louder. "Jas, wake up." He couldn't resist poking her in the face, and she immediately opened her eyes. After about half a nanosecond, she closed them again; she slowly started blinking and sat up a little. "Good morning, Jasi."
"Good morning Curly," she replied sleepily, putting her arms around his neck. He hugged back and then said, "Do you want to get changed and come down for breakfast?"
"Okay. What time is it?" Harry noticed that her morning voice was slightly deeper, slower and much calmer and sweeter than when she was awake.
"Nearly eleven, we let you sleep in heaps."
"You kept us up late last night," Jasi reminded him.
"True."
They had gone out for Thai for dinner, and Jasi had felt everyone's eyes on her as she choked down part of a scoop of rice, a few pieces of the Chilli Chicken and Cashew Nut stir fry thing and a piece of a spring roll; she had even let herself have a few spoonfuls of one of the three massive icecream platters that were dessert. They hadn't gotten back until ten thirty, and then they protested that they weren't tired, so watched the new Disney movie Frozen until past midnight. Buzz Cut and Blondie cried; an exhausted Alicia and even a tired Jeni got a little emotional; but Jasi, conveniently forgetting her experience with Curly a few hours earlier, was man enough to stay strong. And then, because they still refused to go to bed (the boys would soon learn this was a regular thing) Messy Hair put Grease on; they managed to last until nearly three in the morning. Well, they fell asleep at around one or two but were taken to their beds (Blondie carried Lic, Curly was punched in the stomach when he tried to carry Jas and Messy Hair woke Jeni up).
"Anyway, we have to go shopping today."
"Okay," Jasi replied.
"Come down for breakfast now; or do you want to get changed first?"
"No," Jasi replied. "Let's go."
She and Curly went downstairs.
Meanwhile, Liam was waking up Jeni.
