"No." Jasmine stared at Liam, flatly refusing.
"I don't actually remember giving you a choice," Liam replied.
"I'm not going."
The two were locked in a faceoff, arguing over whether or not Jasmine would be going with Liam to her appointment or not. All of the boys had tried to reason with her, but she refused to budge. Nothing they said could convince her to move from her spot at the bottom of the stairs, and everyone in the house knew that she would make herself late.
"Last chance, Jasmine. Either you get yourself in the car, or we will."
She simply gave him the finger, causing him to sigh.
"Right. Give me your phone."
"No!"
Without Liam having to call, three other boys joined them at the stairs. Harry made as if to go up the stairs, but at the last second snatched her iPhone from her back pocket. Slipping it into his own, he placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Get moving, kiddo."
She ignored him, only rolling his eyes. With an unspoken agreement, Zayn and Louis crouched beside her and put her on their shoulders, one boy either side, walking to the front door.
"Put me down!"
Together they tipped her backwards, so that Harry caught her arms, and they each took a leg. Carrying her like a war carcass, they followed Liam to the car. Wrestling for a moment, they bundled her into the front seat, buckled her in and closed the door.
"We should be back in a couple hours," Liam said. "Niall's taking Ali shoe shopping, and Jennifer has an appointment with a school guidance officer."
"Relax, mate," Harry said. "We'll see you when you get back."
The three boys went back inside as Liam backed out of the driveway.
"Do you know what colour you want to get?" Liam attempted to ask. He was met with a surly glare.
"Hey, don't be mad at me – you need braces. We're responsible for making sure you get them."
"I. Don't. Want. Them."
"I know you don't," he replied. "Neither did Niall."
"Niall had braces?"
"Yes. A lot of stuff happened before you girls came to us, you should google it."
"What colour did he get?"
"He just got plain white, but you can get almost every colour imaginable."
"Can I just not get them at all?"
"You have to get braces, Jas."
"How about-"
"You have to get braces, Jas."
"Maybe-"
"You have to get braces, Jasmine! End of story. Clear?"
"Liam."
Something in her tone made him glance over at her. She was begging him with her eyes, pleading to not have to get braces.
"What's so bad about braces, Jasmine?"
"They'll hurt, and they look funny, and they cost a lot of money," she began.
"Hey." His stern voice cut her off. "Don't you worry about the money, okay? We are in charge of that."
"What about the other stuff?"
