THE SILK SKATING DRESS . It hung on the wall, displayed proudly as an achievement with a golden medal ribbon placed on the neck. Her achievements were just empty husks now.
Taking it off from the hanger, she began to rip the dress harshly with her own hands and nails. The fabric fell apart in pieces, sequins and glitter staining the floors, the now expensive dress ruined by shreds and tears.
Stupid dress! Stupid worthless piece of metal!
The following day after, her father joined her as she sat by the balcony. In between Seraphina's lips was a cigarette, a miserable expression written all over.
Stephen quickly noticed and yanked the cigarette out, groaning. "What did I tell you, no smoking."
"Come on, Dad, give me a break," Seraphina glared at him, annoyed by his fatherly nagging. Although it was hard to actually get mad at him, as she was quick to let it go.
"Go back into your room. Now."
Seraphina sighed deeply, half smiling as if he was joking. "Dad, are you really sending me, an adult, back to my bed?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to do it or not?"
Seeing how he wasn't going to budge, Seraphina walked back to her room, the cigar smell lingered on her bleeding lips. Sitting against the wall was her very own skating dress. Stitched together in jumbled mess with the poor threading, but it still managed to resemble one.
In this state, the dress couldn't even be worn.
So absurd.
...
Both would scavenge each desk and room for any kind of clue, either hinting towards the missing father or Ada Wong, who had gone off without Leon to retrieve the G-virus sample. After the whole incident with the sewer monster, Seraphina definitely preferred to stay out of water.
"G-virus?" Seraphina questioned curiously, hearing Leon's brief explanation. Great, there's one more?
"She didn't tell me everything, but it's probably related with the T-virus. If she can get her hands on it, we might prevent another disaster," Leon glanced at a smoky glass window. "Who knows what those companies high up plan to do. They most likely want to take advantage of the G-virus."
"Get to the lab," The letter said. "By SH."
Silence filled the air, thickening the quietness and unsettling feelings. It wasn't hard to figure out Seraphina's mannerisms and body language. Closed off and secretive. Her hands clasped together, tapping with one long nail.
