A VERY TEENAGE SERAPHINA leaned over the apartment balcony, evident by the cigarette between her lips and somewhat rebellious aura. By this time, she hadn't gotten her ankle injury yet. Her father sighed, tired of lecturing his own daughter.

"No smoking right now," He took the cigarette right out of her lips, much to her dismay. "What did I tell you? If you're gonna smoke, once a week."

Seraphina rolled her eyes. Of course, like any other teenager, she hated the nagging. But it was her dad, so she couldn't stay angry at him. After all, the irritation faded away eventually.

"Sorry. Had a bad week."

"Bad week? What happened?"

She grinned, a sign she wasn't going to say her secrets, like a mischievous child. "Not saying."

Sorry, I lied.

...

Annette slid down the wall from the impact, leaving behind an gruesome blood stain.

"What the hell?" Leon aimed his pistol at the now alive William, grimacing at the sudden flash of events. A pulsating, fleshy arm rose out of the body. William roared as it grew in size, still alive with the bullets inside him.

"Give me the pistol," Seraphina hurriedly said as she lent out a hand. She wasn't going to stand helpless in this situation and Leon's fight wasn't going to be enough. She knew that. "You take the shotgun."

"You don't know how to use it," Leon backed up as William rose in intimidating size. His shotgun was only used in moments of deep trouble, although this seemed like the perfect time to use it. "What are you planning to do?"

"Just give it, trust me, Leon!"

In a rush, he handed over the pistol and reloaded within seconds. An impressive skill. As soon as he did, the platform under shifted and sent their balance off. Annette was seen crawling to a panel and barely stood on her own feet.

Seraphina stumbled backwards, pistol in hand, while Leon got sectioned off with William. The platform went down, separating the pair.

"What are you doing?!" She exclaimed at the blonde woman. Without any thought, Annette selfishly thought about the monster only. Not even thinking about the person being trapped...

"I can't let him get away," Annette's words began to slur, showing her injuries worsening. "Not him."

"Leon!" Seraphina cried out. She watched and eyed the scene below her and decided it was no use to anguish over someone else's choices. As her finger curled around the trigger, her entire body trembled.
