THEY CAUGHT THEIR BREATHS, Seraphina almost keeling over due to her initial shock settling in. Leon heard the Licker (he'd read some of the files, figuring out these monsters were exactly that) crying out, wanting to search for the pair. It wasn't an exactly smart thing, as it didn't try bust through the door. Only the horrid sound of its claws scratching were heard.
"God, I've seen many things, but what was that?"
Seraphina dusted off dirt off her skirt, although it did nothing when they were both caked in grime and blood. A nervous habit.
"A Licker. Back in the police station, I read something about those guys. Ran into two of them back there." Leon shuddered when he thought about the first time he encountered them. They were incredibly fast and at that time, he'd only thought zombies existed.
"Two of them?" Seraphina sighed tiredly at the thought. Her heart had already taken too much at the sight of the tyrant and many corpses. "It's a miracle your even alive."
"I have been feeling that way since the start..."
After surviving a car crash, explosion, injuries, getting hit constantly by some human mutant, shot in the shoulder and being thrown around, Leon sure felt as if his lucky streak wouldn't give up now. He can't die—not when he has promised. Not until he's done his job.
Herbicide. If he can get his hands on it, it'll eliminate a majority of the monsters inside the greenhouse. The mixture is toxic enough to at least poison them. There's too many zombies already, having Lickers and those mutant plants walk around was too much.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Why was her heart still beating so fast?
"There's the herbicide," Leon said with relief, glancing at the various desks and labs. "I'll get this out within a couple of minutes and we'll be able to get through the hordes easier back in the main area."
Quick to work, Leon placed his weapons down, and observed the different colored mixtures. A paper with instructions specifically for it were written in a complicated manner. Match the liquids to the written amount. Then release the vial to get the cartridge.
One. Two. Three.
As soon as the liquids matched up to the amount, a clicking noise indicated it was done, dispensing a cartridge with the finished solution inside. Releasing it would kill a good amount of monsters. He'd rather not be stormed all at once back in the main greenhouse area, especially after going through it many times.
Seraphina glanced at the papers scattered all over the desk with scribbled handwriting. Written in inky black pen. Everything was like that all over the city—as if everyone had gotten up and left suddenly. Abandoning what's in front of them.
One paper stood out. It read;
Rumors connected to ? Umbrella Corporation says ?
SH stated that he knows nothing. We offered him a deal, he helps with the lab, and the virus doesn't get spread around into everyone's ears. It'll be kept quiet.
He's in room 205. Hasn't come out in days.
Curious on what any of it meant, she dug underneath a few files and stacks. Many of them had a distinctive logo, a circular shape with red and white sections. Umbrella Corporation...
