Tommy POV

For the next week life was quiet. No more hunters came after them and the four of them felt fairly safe. Sure, they were still a little on edge, but the feeling had definitely calmed down a bit.

One day the four of them entered the town, looking for more supplies, mostly food.

"Why can't we split up to get everything? That way everything will go faster!" Tommy suggested, hoping to hang out with Tubbo later that day. The problem was trading always took so long to where it was a whole day event.

Phil thought for a moment, "I'm not sure that's a good idea Toms..."

"Why not?" he asked, hoping to convince Phil to agree to his idea.

"What if you get attacked or something? We might not have time to come save you." Phil explained uneasily.

"I've been practicing Phil! I can defend myself! Besides, have you heard me scream?" the blonde begged, not ready to give up on his suggestion.

"He has been getting better." Techno commented, but even he was hesitant.

"What's the rush anyway?" Wilbur piped up, confused as to why Tommy wanted to be done quicker. Usually he enjoyed the trips into town.

"I was planning to hang out with Tubbo today!" Tommy exclaimed with a bright smile on his face. The two had become practically inseparable over the week, never wanting to leave one another. "Please Phil?"

Phil sighed, "Alright, but you need to be careful, okay?"

"Yes!" Tommy jumped up with excitement. "You're my favorite Phil!"

"Hey!" Wilbur and Techno protested.

Tommy took off before they could even force him to say otherwise. He just needed to head to the bakery and then to the fruit shop. He figured it would go quick.

He pushed open the door to Lani's Bakery, inhaling the sweet smell of bread.

Lani rushed to the front as soon as the bell chimed. "Hey Tommy!" she beamed, having grown quite fond of the blonde from their few encounters.

"Hi Lani!" he greeted, smiling brightly. "I'm here for four loaves of bread."

Lani nodded, "Would you like some cookies as well? They're fresh from the oven."

"Really?" his eyes gleamed at the thought. No one made cookies like Lani, no one even came close.

"Of course."

"Sure!" he exclaimed, thinking for a moment. "Could I have some for Techno, Phil, and Wilbur as well?"

"You can have as many as you want." Lani chuckled, amused.

"Thank you so much!"

She handed him a bag with the bread before adding the cookies. His mouth watered at the sweet smell. They just smelled that good.

"How much?" he questioned, fishing some money out of his pocket.

"Just ten for the loaves, the cookies are a gift."

"I have enough-"

"They're a gift Tommy." she insisted.

He sighed, handing over ten coins. "Thank you Lani."

"Make sure you eat something fruit with that!" she chuckled, "I hear the apples are fresh today!"

Tommy playfully rolled his eyes, "Alright. I think Tubbo's rubbing off on you, trying to be all responsible." He left the shop, his mouth still watering. He had to make sure he saved some for the others.

His next destination was the fruit shop. He opened the door, surprised to see an old woman at the front. He had never seen her before. So why did he feel like she had been expecting him.

"Welcome." she greeted. But it wasn't warm or sweet, it was almost cruel. Like she was one step ahead of him.

"Hello." he said politely. "I was hoping to buy a few bunches of bananas and maybe some plums."

"How about some apples?" the woman offered, picking one of the stack. She cleaned it with her sleeve, making it shiner. "They're fresh."

Tommy shifted uncomfortably. Why was she so eager? "Just the bananas and plums." He was sure Lani would understand.

"You know... these are special apples." she began, speaking in a creepy voice. He almost thought he recognized it, almost.

"How so?" he questioned, a little curious.

"They say they have the ability to see people from the dead."

Tommy raised an eyebrow, having never heard of this. "Look, I just want the bananas and plums." Was this woman a witch or something? Why would she believe something so absurd.

"Your father died not long after your mother."

He stopped, glancing towards her. No one really knew much about his mother, and he liked to keep it that way.

"I'll just leave, you're creeping me out."

The woman walked towards him, "Just try one. There's no harm in it."

"No thanks." he pushed her away.

"Take it."

Hope you liked it!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

I may have made an error... let me just fix that...

And now Lani is in the book because why not...
