Chapter 17- She'll Pay For This

Techno POV

What was meant to be only a few hunters turned into a lot more. Sure, Techno was powerful and probably the best swordsmen around, but even he had limits.

Techno was trying his best to keep an eye on Wilbur and to make sure Tommy was safe, but that became more difficult as they continued to fight.

"Tommy stay between us!" he shouted, pushing a hunter back.

"I-I'll try." Tommy stammered, looking terrified to say the least. He was looking back and forth, unsure of what to do.

Techno fought back harder, successfully making the hunters back up. Suddenly a voice was heard over the fighting.

"Techno! A little help!" Wilbur shouted, trying his very best to knock the hunter he was fighting back.

Techno's eyes widened, and panic spread through his body. Could he protect both of them? He didn't know, but he was certainly going to try.

He grabbed Tommy, backing up to where he could help defend Wilbur. That's when Techno quickly realized they couldn't defend each other for long. They were just too many. They needed to flee.

"Look for a way out Wilbur!" Techno whispered, continuing to push the hunters back. Tommy hid behind him, fear evident in his eyes.

Wilbur nodded. He looked for a moment, "Over there Techno!" He pointed to a small opening in the circle, where they could attempt to slip through.

Without another thought, Techno looked at Tommy. "Get on my back now!" Tommy didn't need to be told twice, jumping on his back.

The brothers raced towards the opening which was quickly being refilled by hunters. Techno crashed through them, racing into the forest with Wilbur hot on his heels.

"Won't they just follow us?" Wilbur panted.

Techno stopped, passing Tommy to Wilbur. "Run to the house, I'll take care of them."

"Tech there's too many-"

"I can do it." Techno insisted. "I can unleash my true power when I don't have to worry about you two." Wilbur still seemed unconvinced, but Techno left no room for arguments. "I'll be fine."

"You better be." Wilbur huffed, adding, "Or I'm going to kill you for this dumb decision."

"Do you have a better one?" Techno retorted, eyeing the woods.

"No."

"Go then."

Wilbur sighed, adjusting Tommy on his back before running in the direction of the house.

Techno turned to the coming hunters, a deadly smile on his face.

They didn't know what they were in for.

Tommy POV

Tommy hid his face in Wilbur's sweater, trying to prevent the coming tears. Techno was going to get hurt and it would be all his fault. He should have left when he had the chance, save them the trouble. But he didn't, because he was selfish.

Wilbur, who apparently heard his sniffing, spoke, "He'll be alright, Toms. Don't worry."

"B-But what if he isn't?" Tommy sniffed. 

"I've known Techno my whole life. Trust me, he can handle himself. You haven't seen anything yet." Wilbur chuckled, the house coming into view.

"Why didn't you want to leave him?"
