Noise from downstairs broke Louis from the sort of trance he was in. As it had been the last four or so days, his room was dark. The curtains were pulled shut and there were mounds of clothes on the floor. But he didn't care, it had been like that since Saturday and if he had his way it was going to stay like that for another week or more. He could hear heavy footsteps coming up the stairs before they stopped and someone knocked on his door.

"Yes?" Louis said quietly, his throat dry from lack of liquid.

"Can I come in?" It was Harry, probably standing with his hands behind his back waiting for Louis to answer.

"If you want." Louis answered.

When the door opened he winced from the light coming in, lifting the covers above his head and whining.

"What died in here?" Harry teased, sitting on the end of his bed.

"My heart."

"Deep."

A smile stretched across Louis' face for the first time all week, even if it was a half smile.

"Your mum's worried about you." Harry stated after a few moments of silence.

"Suppose that's why you're here then?"

"Partly, but also because I've been here everyday this week with your sisters and I haven't seen your face once."

"Then why didn't you come up?"

"Because I knew you needed time to wallow in self pity and to be sad, but you've had your week and I think it's probably time you got out of bed and opened the curtains."

"No." Louis replied, turning his head away from Harry and closing his eyes.

"Lou, please. At least have a shower and come downstairs, let your mum know you're not trying to kill yourself." Harry begged, moving so Louis would look at him.

"Thought about it."

"Don't say that."

"Sorry."

"It's alright, want me to run you a bath? Then you can come downstairs."

"I don't want you to but you're going to force me so I might as well just agree."

"Good boy." Harry laughed, ruffling Louis' fringe and getting up to leave the room.

"Get out and don't run me a bath otherwise I'll just sit in that until the water goes cold."

"Alright, have a shower then."

When Louis had showered and made his way downstairs he was surprised to see Stan and Jess sat in his living room talking to Harry. Immediately he wanted to turn round and go back upstairs into his room but Harry had seen him and he knew the older boy wouldn't of let him.

"Hi." He said quietly, sitting on one of the arm chairs and curling in on himself.

"Hi, we wanted to see how you were. Your phones been off right?" Jess said with a warm smile that almost made him want to cry.

"Probably, the last time I charged it was Thursday I think."

"You're alright though, right?" Stan asked, obviously affected by his best friends mood.

"I could be better, I'm still alive though."

"We could go to town if you want. Olly is at football training but he said if we do go into town he'll meet us there."
