"Get on the motorcycle already!"
"I don't know how to ride one!" Rantaro whispered.
"THEN RUN." The voice in his head was angry.
"I'm slow though!" Rantaro cried.
"Who cares?! At least you have a chance to not be killed!" The voice yelled.
"I- okay.." Rantaro slowly got up.
"Now GO."
As the woman advanced Rantaro, holding a knife, Rantaro dashed away, running for his life.
He left villagers confused and stares were headed his way, but Rantaro was just glad that he would be alive.
"See? What did I tell you?" The voice snickered.
"Well, genius, she may catch up to me." Rantaro muttered.
"She can't be that fast - oh, can you ride a bicycle?"
"Uh, yeah. What do you take me for?"
"There's one right beside that house- how convienent." The voice said.
"But it's not mine-" Rantaro was cut off by the voice.
"Do you want to live or not?!"
"Okay, okay, chill." Rantaro groaned and jumped on the bicycle.
"Now get out of here."
Rantaro put his feet on the pedals and let the wheels turn over and meet the stone pavement, the water from the earlier downpour splashing everywhere.
Rantaro had his head down low as the wind ran through his hair, pedalling towards the gate.
"That's it! You finally did something right." The voice laughed.
"Oh, shut up ya idiot."
As he neared closer toward the gate, he felt a sense of hope, and slowly turn into final freedom as in rushed out of the gate, out of the village where he was alnost murdered if not for the voice.
"Keep on pedalling." The voice whispered.
"Yeah, yeah I know." Rantaro smiled.
He kept on pedalling and pedalling, passing meadows, hills and even another village where he took a rest.
"I.. think I can stop pedalling now." Rantaro got off the bike and dropped it.
"In a meadow? Really?" The voice groaned in exasperation.
"What's wrong with that?! At least it isn't a place of unicorns.."
"Whatever," The voice paused. "By the way, when will I have a name?"
"A name?" Rantaro questioned.
"Yes, are you deaf?"
"Well..." Rantaro scratched his head.
"...Wakiya?"
