Shu knew somethimg was off when he reached the door to his home. Yeah sure, there was a ton of commotion where he lived, but none of it came from his home.
Banging (maybe his table?), the sound of paper (whatever it was), and the... breaking of plastic? He'd gotten rather suspicious that something more than dinner was going on in there.
His boots made a small *clack* noise as Shu put them down, unlocking the door. He peered into darkness through the railings, but couldn't really make anything out.
Shu decided that it was probably nothing and walked in, beginning to take of his bag.
The lights switched on.
"Happy birthday Shu!!!"
Ecstatic voices all yelled the same thing, wishing Shu a happy birthday.
Shu almost jumped, startled by the sudden noise as someone crashed into him.
"Happy birthday Shu!" Valt grinned up at the albino's face, white powder visible on his face.
"I-" Shu gazed at the streamers adorning his walls and the not-so-in-shape cake on his table.
"Dude, get up! Did you forget your birthday or something?" Rantaro smiled cheekily.
"I- I guess I did," Shu glanced down at Valt and stood up.
"Regardless, happy birthday," Daigo looked at Shu, almost expectantly.
"It's your special day! What do you want to do?" Besu said.
"I guess..." Shu looked around. He had never really celebrated his birthday, so little that he never considered it to be such a special occasion. "I guess I could stay here a little."
He sat down in front of the cake and stared at the fourteen candles on it, their flames flickering.
"Make a wish!" Valt laughed, excited for his best friend.
Shu didn't really believe in any of that but went with it anyway and blew out the candles.
"I... uh... what now?" Shu glanced over his shoulder, not knowing what to do next.
They blinked.
"Well... beyblade?" Keru asked, Kerbeus in it's mouth.
"Yeah!" Valt pulled out Valtryek eagerly.
"Don't think I'm losing this time, Blue Hedgehog," Rantaro smirked.
"We'll see," Daigo said, a small smile on his face.
Shu couldn't do anything but stare- his birthday... he had never...
But his friends... they did the one thing that had brought them together- beyblade.
And key word, together.
